I know the halo games dont really have a lot of Strong Language in them, but the books do… somewhat i guess
Bungie used to “keep it clean” but this isnt Bungie anymore, i wouldn’t really mind if they kept the language PG that means it will just be Halo, but if they did include maybe a few F- words and Sh_t here and there and maybe even a**hole etc… it would be refreshing at best, just to here a marine swear when like lets say a huge fleet appears out of slip space right above them…
i know this is such a silly little thing, but i see Frankie posting a lot lately here on THESE forums, and i was just hoping he could confirm or deny this, since he has been answering few questions here and there ever so vaguely
I can’t see the language changing much from what it already is. For some reason, Halo just feels strange having too much language. But I wouldn’t mind having a little more.
Honestly I hope it stays the same. In Gears of War i turn on the languagge filter, and in Battlefield it turn off voice volume, just because I HATE swearing.
> “Son of a gun!” Kind of killed the mood in ODST. The marines can grow up a little bit.
they did say this would be a more deeper and darker story, maybe the Marines may grow up, and it doesnt really have to be the Marines either, it could be pilots or com frequencies or maybe even Cortana…
I don’t really mind if there’s more swearing than in the previous games. I just hope the Marines are a bit more mature. They shouldn’t really be cracking jokes and stuff when there’s 8 foot tall aliens cutting people up with energy swords. They should only tell jokes when the IWHBYD skull is on.
> i would like a heavy dose of swearing but this is still a game a lot of younger kids will play. it probably should have very little if any
i havnt played any COD except part 3 i think and like 2 campaign levels ontop of that… (i know right) but i heard they have strong language… and more kids play COD anyways, and on top of that its not 343’s job to worry about kids, its their parents
I agree that during the heat of battle, it would be cool to see a marine Rolfing dive away from a wraith or grenade explosion and scream SONUVAB**** not a whole bunch though, I’m glad that people are being mature and actually real with this topics thanks guys

exactly ^ it couldn’t hurt, or maybe after a big fight when everyone thinks its over another huge lot of enemies pop up out of nowhere and a “Main” character maybe an Officer in charge of a fire team assisting chief yells out "WHAT THE FCK!.. thats bullsht!, WEAPONS FREE! WEAPONS FREE MARINES!
No F-bombs or sexually-related swears. I can see Female Dog (The synonymous B-word being used, not female dog) being okay, but only in moderation. Crap should be used instead of the alternative. There’s nothing wrong with Damn either.
It is an M-rated game, and should be treated as such.
Maybe from the marines. The “son of a -Yoink-” in Reach from the female marine kind of fit in. But considering the story is about Spartans, I wouldn’t expect any strong language.

Lol, yeah. I remember DLing a remake of Damnation for Reach, and when I selected the map, The name had to be replaced with -Blam!-. MFW

Jesus, people are still on about this? That’s just the acting style of Alan Tudyk! That’s the way he is.
Honestly, while Halo doesn’t have it characters should the f-word or s-word every few seconds, it isn’t light on the swearing by any means. What I love about Halo is that it doesn’t focus on swearing like most M-rated games do.
