I played SWAT extensively in Reach and it was one of my favorite playlists, something about the accuracy and quick fingers needed to do well turned me on.
But now in halo 4, I get absolutely DESTROYED in swat.
I struggle to go positive all the time, when in reach, i would consistently get half the teams kills and ridiculously high k/d ratios. Not tryin to toot my own horn here, but the contrast is huge.
Anyways, I think Reach had a much better gametype than halo 4 currently has, although i haven’t come to understand why yet. map design? constantly trading kills?
Enough about me, lets talk about you.
Did you think Reach had a better gametype going?
or halo 4?
or did you think they were the same and i’m just delusional?

Reach was more skill based. Halo 4 all you have to do is either spam the pistol or BR spray. I was the opposite of you because if the pistol. I wasn’t as bad in Reach but nothing special either.
I played a 1,000+ games of Swat in Reach. And it was actually a challenge. Reflection, Asylum and Boardwalk … loved 'em.
Swat in Halo 4 is way too noob friendly due to magnetism and such. I got the 15 pistol kills challenge the other day on my first try, and had 20+ kills the following 4 or 5 games. 33-6 before I changed playlists.
But on maps like Complex, the BR is definitely inferior to the DMR.
I hated FF in swat. Sometimes a stray pistol shot would hit someone right behind the enemy, and BOOM…booted.
I swear, all i ever heard in Halo 3 was “Turn off Friendly Fire”.
I love it being off. Prevents me from getting betrayed for stupid crap, like Hail Mary grenade throws that somehow sticks to the real rear of the hog, and yet the hog survives.
Hopefully maps from the forge playlist get added into SWAT, we definitely need some better SWAT maps. Other than that though, I’m loving Halo 4 SWAT. If I weren’t working towards the UNSC Loadout Mastery (Protector helmet) it would be all I would play.
I could definitely go for a separate SWAT gametype with Carbines and Lightrifles, instead of DMR/BR. It would help refine my LR skills a bit…I’m terrible with that thing.
