I’m a huge fan of the SWAT game type and when I heard the BR and the DMR are coming to halo 4 I thought of how different SWAT can be now.
Anyone else excited? This and sprint being default can change up the gameplay quite a bit.
There could be swat matches with or without sprint. Matches with dmr load outs and a pistol, BR load outs with the pistol, both dmr and BR in the same load out.
I think this changes a lot as opposed to halo 3 just BR and pistol and reaches just DMR and pistol.
> but there isnt any ‘health’ in halo 4 unlike reach and 1 :s
No visible health system, if it’s like Halo 3 it’ll have regenerating health. Also if this is an argument for no SWAT… Halo 2/3 had SWAT with “no health”.
OT: Anxious to see how SWAT turns out in Halo 4, loved it in 3 but it lost it’s lusture in Reach for some reason that I can’t quite put my finger on
With or without health it’ll be the same as before. I only hope there isn’t a level similar to pinnacle to play swat on and no SWAT magnums aswell. Also the combination of DMR and BR will be interesting but I bet everyone will still use BR.
Speaking of health, even if the game has no health at all (which it probably will), they could just enable shields, 300% damage and no shield regen, or something like that.
SWAT doesn’t change much . The best thing will be lots of playable maps. SWAT already has sprint by default, in reach and Is always a no shields, headshot to kill variant. I just hope it gets an FFA playlist.

Perhaps there will be a choice between BR SWAT and DMR SWAT, just like there was always SWAT Magnums and umm… that SWAT gametype with Shotguns.
Reach had the best SWAT mechanics and the worst maps of the franchise. Visible health, sprint, bloom, melee, (lack of) grenades, and semi auto rifle were great additions while all maps besides Arena Zealot were awful. The lack of visible health is disappointing for H4 SWAT.
I was actually thinking about this too, Halo 4 SWAT.
Well, First they might just have separate game types which fit the appropriate map.
Long Ranged Map = SWAT DMR’S
Short Ranged Map= SWAT BR’S
Middle-ish Ranged Map= SWAT BR’S and SWAT DMR’S
And we vote for the one we want to play, and maybe a gametype with both BR and DMR?
Continuing on from the previous point of BR and DMR in one gametype, that could be a default gametype, However you start with a BR and pick up a DMR or Vise Versa.
All you seemed to play in SWAT on Reach was Pinnacle, which is a horrible map because it is so small and open you can get shot practically no matter where you are.
I think that the BR will be a lot better in smaller maps while the DMR will be a lot better in bigger maps. I actually don’t mind this, it could make SWAT more interesting.

Personally I hope Halo 4 Swat is more like Reach than Halo 3. For some reason I didn’t like Halo 3’s swat as much as I like Reach’s.
