I’ve been playing SWAT on Halo 4 for a while now and I have to say it sucks in comparison to Halo Reach. Why? Because of the Battle Rifle. The fact you can get a triple kill from on burst of the Battle Rifle proves it is completely unfair in a game where all you need is one headshot. Three bullets have a better chance of getting a headshot then one bullet. So, either remove it completely from SWAT or make two separate SWAT modes, one with the DMR and one with the Battle Rifle.
I completely agree with this. 343 should give the option of the player choosing either SWAT with only DMRs or only Battle Rifles.
the br and the dmr should never be in the same room…
I Second That Notion
SWAT has always been about BRs. The DMR might not shoot as many projectiles at once, but it has a range advantage.
or add carbine and light rifle to mix things up and make it more a personal choice then which gun is best by map.
The BR is a good spray gun but SWAT is about accuracy, not who can spam a burst gun in your face.

Actually it is about spamming. Reach said it was about as hardcore as you can get but I disagree…
ok personally I think they should do what Bungie did in Reach. Have a SWAT as a playlist with the separate game modes that the players can vote for. Like SWAT coventant carbine or SWAT battle rifle.

OP please eat a snickers. Why? Because you cry about dumb sh*t when your hungry.
Your obviously saw that in halo mythbusters but that only happened in mythbusters something like that is almost impossible in a actual game. BR’s always been in swat and always will so for you to complain about something that is close to impossible to do is childish. Unless you and your team are just standin still looking stupid.
If you want to spam, then go use an assault rifle in slayer. They give you a single shot weapon for a reason. In a one shot kill game mode, burst weapons WILL also have an advantage over single shot weapons in terms of fire power. Yes, they have less accuracy but Halo 4 SWAT doesn’t have enough range on the maps for long distance accuracy to matter.

iv gotten a few doubles and at least two one shot triples with the br. though mostly becuase they just spawned but still. plus its not very difficult to get a one shot double on haven.

I prefer DMR to BR, it feels easier to aim and hit, one shot one kill. With BR at a distance I have problems aiming. I did however use BR in SWAT on haven as I want to get UNSC loadout master. A bunch on enemies popped their heads up on one of the sloping paths, I jump by, aim and fire. Got 2 kills in one burst. Not 3 as in the mythbuster video, but 2. First I didn’t understand what just happened, but then I remembered I used BR and not DMR.
I dunno if anyone ever has got 3, more than in a set up like in the video. I got 2 however…
Do I think BR should be banned on swat? No, I personally get more kills with the DMR during SWAT then with the BR.
Ever played SWAT in Halo 2 or 3? Getting a multikill in one burst is just punishing the opposing team for sticking too close together. Also, forgive the BR for being good in a gametype for once over the DMR.
I agree that something needs to be done with SWAT. Just like they did with the new Snipers, they should place better precision weapons (Carbine, Light Rifle) on the map as “power weapons”. Also, beside the vanilla Halo 4 SWAT, I’d like to see versions with either BR starts or DMR starts, not both together.
Oh, and another thing…
TURN OFF AIM ASSIST/BULLET MAGNETISM
> BR’s always been in swat…
Halo: Reach would like to have a word with you.
I regularly get multiple kills in one shot with the BR in Haven and Adrift as people tend to run around the curved landing in Haven in a line or down the corridors in Adrift like baby elephants holding their hands. If you happen across the right angle then a flick of the stick will send your spray just right to pick off a couple of heads. Obviously if this rages you the best thing to do is ensure you and your team don’t line up like that.
This isn’t the be all end all weapon on those maps though, as I’ve been picked off by plenty of DMRs from across the map in Haven and the DMR rules the man cannons in Adrift.
All this is moot when I’ve got my pistol out, though - this gun is effective at all ranges. I love raging people out on Complex headshotting them with the pistol at extreme range.

Halo reach dosent count as the BR wasn’t available in that game. So sorry anyone who thinks its DMR only needs to go play more then just Reach

You are missing the point. Reach did not have the BR, which means it wasn’t in SWAT at the time… so LoudPack’s claim that the BR has “always been in swat” is invalid. Just because one person (out of millions) thinks Reach wasn’t a “real” Halo game, does not make it fact.
Where in my op did I state it was “DMR only” anyway… Are you that delusional?
Frist of all Halo Reach was a real Halo game so therefore the BR was not in every SWAT game. Also, they need to get rid of the magnetism that is blatantly obvious. Combine the magnetism with a rifle that can easily get two or three kills with one burst, and you have an overpowered weapon. Just make separate SWAT matches like they did in Reach and everyone will be happy. The DMR people will be pleased and the BR people can go have fun bursting with eachother.
i vote they make a swat where we only get rocket launchers with bottomless clip
and or spawn with machine gun turrets and overshields…
