SWAT.. i wish it was only single shot weapons

i love swat, and have been playing it a lot lately. since i started playing swat i always used the designated marksman rifle and never the BR. until today, and i have noticed that it is so much easier for me to kill someone with the BR because of the 3-bullets-at-once it provides. i understand why most players i face are using it against me, its a good choice for fast headshot/kill. with my DMR, it takes much more aiming compared to the BR.

i wish there was a single shot mode of SWAT, maybe include alien guns seeing how the DMR/pistol are the only single shot human guns.

i dont mean to offend anyone, this is just my opinion. i dont hold a grudge against anyone for using any certain gun.

also i wish there were more human guns in the game…

Well it depends. One of the things that was fun in halo 3 was that it was challenging to get headshots. (one u were a dino, 2 br wasn’t accurate)

The dmr still reigns supreme on maps like complex, and even solace, but on maps like haven and abandon, the br will dominate.

Idk if 343 ever puts in ranked playlists, It should make us use the most challenging weapon depending on the map.

I agree, it’d be nice if there were “dmr/pistol only” and “br/pistol only” playlists, but I doubt that’s at the top of the to-do list for 343i.

Welcome to how SWAT was originally intended. Back in the Halo 2/3 days, the only option was the BR.

I used the DMR for a long time, then switched over to the BR simply to work on the commendation. It definitely is a bit easier but I never really have a problem with others killing me specifically with the BR.

I do agree that there should be a variant that uses the carbine and one that uses the light rifle. I would rather not see them as an option with the DMR/BR SWAT, and instead have their own gametype in SWAT. 5 weapons to watch out for in SWAT is too much imo.

Covie/Forerunner SWAT, yes. I would also be down with some ShWATguns once we get some smaller maps…

So if players dont like the BR does anyone think the LR should be added? Its a single shot like the DMR

In my opinion: Magnum > DMR > BR

Close range, the pistol is much better than any other gun. The ability to fire that quickly is better than a burst, since on close range burst don’t make much of a difference anyway. the Magnum is not very effective on long ranges. That’s where the DMR shines. Anything in between could use a BR, but IMO both the pistol and the DMR will do the job just fine.
