SWAT, FFA, and Breakout Matchmaking Tweaks

We’ve tweaked the matchmaking settings for FFA, SWAT, and Breakout so higher-skilled players should be able to match more consistently and often faster than before.

Try it out and give us some feedback here.

Will it also improve focused search times for those in the middle ranks?

Probably not the very middle. Maybe a little if you used to wait over 40s.

What has changed? Have weapons been changed back for breakout? If so let me know so I can install the game again

Lol

so does this means high skilled players will match with lower skilled players in favor of faster matchmaking?

Not in that strong of an absolute. They will match lower players than before, but still really high ranked players.

Before, it was only allowing top Champs to match top Champs. Like, 1-50 vs. only 1-50.

Now it allows top Champs to match high, sometimes mid-Onyx.

Thank you! I haven’t gotten to ply SWAT since the tweaks, but definitely noticed an improvement in finding games in FFA last night.

Did these changes come in at the start of the season? Because when I got my grind to champion done in FFA I noticed I was getting matches at lot quicker as champion compared to last season when I was onyx, although I feel this has come at the cost of stability as this season although search times were faster there was alot players with bad connections (i.e Teleporting, Latacy in kill registration, Bullets not registering ect).

Its great getting games faster now and Im not having to resort to smurfing like most Champions claim they do to get games but lower quality of the games can be unnerving for those trying to maintain Champion.

Out of curiosity what level of involvement and influence does someone such as yourself, who’s involved with the matchmaking process (algorithms), have with experimental test changes to the game such as with the Abilities Tracker? I’m sure you get to look at a lot of the data pulled for the test, so I’m wondering if you get any influential input beyond providing statistics. I’m thinking that a developer such as 343i encourages suggestive input from any and all members since most are going to be fans of their creative product and only want to see the best for it. With that said, I’d be very interested to hear your current thoughts on the new Tracker even if you haven’t formed a strong opinion as of yet?

Ima go test them out rn.

Yeah, it’s great… Now I’m matching champion and high onyx players when I was a high platinum and getting 5th and 6th place (on my other account). There were also mid to high level platinum players in the games having similar results. Was I playing my best? Probably not, but that still seems like a match that shouldn’t be happening.

I’m certainly playing against more Champion level players in FFA now - I’m sitting just over 1,700 Onyx and there’s Champs every 2nd or 3rd game
