Anyone who remembers Reach, will remember the joys of armor lock. You’re about to get a wonderful splatter and suddenly your vehicle is destroyed. Armor lock.
With the new survivor mod, which allows you to be launched from your vehicle just before it is destroyed, does anyone else feel like armor lock wouldn’t be so bad?
Nomatter how OP survivor is, it will be nothing compared to armor lock. where survivor is limited to vehicles, armor lock had applications everywhere. OP, how bad has this survivor perk been in the games you’ve played since the update?
> I hate armor lock as much as the next man, but refusing to name it is just childish… whether or not you’re joking.

> The point I was getting at is not that Survivor, or even Armor lock, are OP. Just that they match up pretty well in terms of gameplay.
With more info coming out, they really don’t match up. Like I said before, Armor lock had application to every aspect of the game. Survivor only effects those who drive vehicles (that’s assuming that they’re so dedicated to driving vehicles that they use it in the first place) and its reliability seems to be hit and miss depending on how the vehicles is attacked. Put simply, I doubt it will get the widespread use like armor lock did back in Reach due to it being so restricted in practice. I’m not too worried about it personally.
At this point, I think we all can agree that armor lock is OP. I don’t think there’s anyway of dodging it. Calling it the “unnamed AA” is a bit overboard, I’ll be honest, but we can’t hide how bad that AA was. I see the point you’re getting at, though, in a broad generalization, they both are indeed a second chance in one way or another.

> Well, according to what I have seen… You can survive anything
Survive, yes, but barely. Every time I have used it, by the time my boots hit the ground, I’m one shot. A well coordinated team or someone with a long range weapon should have no trouble cleaning it up, unlike Armour Lock which provided total invincibility.
When you think about it, vehicles have been hampered in Halo 4 because of the ability to spawn with a plasma pistol and plasma grenades instead of having to scavenge the map for them like in the previous games. This might be 343’s way of giving back to the drivers who have struggled in this game due to loadouts.
Not saying it’s great or bad, but hey… I made this post on accident when trying to edit my previous post… so I had to fill this one with something productive.
