It was possible Chief, Kelly, Linda, survived but Six is dead and if he survived it would detract from the point that Reach made about the SPARTANS

There is no way that Noble 6 could have survived that onslaught, and here’s the reasons.

  • The planet is baved in radiation, and according to lore, the Spartans armor can guarantee survival in radio-active areas and survive in the dark, cold space for about 30 minutes (If you’re wondering the space is about negative 500º degrees Celsius). Any personeel from the UNSC that tried to extract him, would most likely be killed, either by the Covenant or by radiation. - Six fought the Covenant for hours non-stop, until the point of being extremely tired. You can see that he’s struggling to stand on his feet after he takes off his helmet in Lone Wolf. Tiredness makes you weaker. And after the Elite Zealot stabs Six with an overheated plasma blade, I don’t see how he could have survived that. Sure, he was stabbed once in the middle cutscene of Winter Contigency, however he wasn’t tired, hence why he was able to get up after being stabbed. - Six was being bombarded with anything, including Elite Generals, Elites wielding Energy Swords, Wraiths that are outside your playable space, Banshee’s that ignore you at first, but then they see that you mean business and start firing at you. How would you expect to survive that? It’s nearly impossible. - Keyes’ last words to Noble Six (face-to-face) are “Good luck to you too, Spartan”, indicating that he knows that Six, after his decision to sacrifice himself, would die.In conclusion, Six is fated to die on Reach.

We had a very long running topic recently discussing this topic that had to be locked. Canonically 6 is dead, this has been confirmed by Bungie since the games release (check my post history for details).

Could 343 bring him back? Totally, but then it comes down to of they should or shouldn’t
