He’s trying to determine how much of the community prefer which composer.

It’s called statistics.

  1. Marty, but that’s just the bias in me, Neil is doing an incredibly excellent job.\
  2. Neil is doing incredible, So yes.
  3. Personally? Never forget/Unforgotten, but also maybe Peril, they’re all awesome.
  4. I’d be fine with it, as long as it isn’t too long or is in a really pivotal part of the story, something like how the Blow Me Away instrumental played while the Elites were fighting the brutes, I’d like that.
  5. because of the direction it’s going, I like it, it fits, it’s not really techno, even, it’s orchestral with a bit of an artificial twist.
6.Yes, definitely, it’s a beautiful addition to my collection.
7.So far, it’s pretty incredible, and still sounds like Halo, so yeah, I Like it.

#1: Either, they are both excellent.

#2: Yes

#3: In Amber Clad
(Come on, don’t tell me that isn’t a nostalgia blast)

#4: Yes

#5: Yes

#6: Absolutely

#7: Yes!

  1. Neil. I love Marty but its a new direction for Halo so give Neil a chance

  2. Yes considering his history in the music industry. Plus the samples so far are great.

3.Unforgotten/Never Forget, Its just the best song. And In Amber Clad

4.Yes as long as it fits well.

5.Yes as long as it works. Also it sounds less techno than some songs in Reach.

6.Yes, I need to be able to take those epic scores with me when I go out.

7.Yes, it sounds more powerful and visceral while still holding the air of Halo’s epic mystery.

  1. Marty all the way, but Neil has that more sci-fi touch to his music

  2. Yes!! Neil is Marty’s succesor

  3. Finish the Fight, Halo 3 Covenant Dance, Halo CE Under Cover of Night, Halo CE Halo!!!, Halo CE Unforgotten, Halo 2 Halo, Greatest journey, Halo 3 Bits and Pieces, Halo 3 ODST

Neil Davidge, Marty is a Bungie Employee, Neil isn’t.

> 2. Do you think Neil Davidge was a good choice to create Halo 4’s music? Yes or No?

Yes.

> 3. If a song from past Halo’s were to return in remastered form for Halo 4, which would it be? (The number of requests will be a percent in the results)

Halo CE:
A walk in the Woods
Under Cover of Night
Covenant Dance
Rock Anthem for Saving the World (Any one who says Rock music shouldn’t be in Halo should be Gibbs smacked.)

Halo 2:
Heretic, Hero
Peril
In Amber Clad
Mombasa Suite
Unyielding
Reclaimer

Halo 3 ODST:
The Menagerie
Overture (Love the storm/rain beginning, all most peaceful.)
Skyline
No Stone Unturned

> 4. Would you be OK with just one dub step song in Halo 4? Yes or No?

Yes: As long as it’s GOOD dub step, I wouldn’t mind 2 or 3, as long as there is more than just dub step to please every one. Even if that one Dubstep song was 100% -Yoink-, I would delete it from my database, and forget all about it, like I do with any song I don’t like.

> 5. It seems like the music is becoming more “techno” if anything, is that Okay? Yes or No?

Yes: Halo CE’s soundtrack was a little bit techno, Halo 2’s sound track was a little bit techno. Techno is ok.

> 6. After hearing the samples of music released, would you purchase the OST? Yes or No?

Yes: I’m more then please with the sound track so far, I’m itching to download it from iTunes and listen to it.

> 7. Do you like the way the music is going in Halo 4? Yes or No?

Yes.

  1. Neil Davidge. I love Marty, but Neil’s doing a pretty good job.

  2. Yep, he’s great. Loving all his work so far.

  3. It would have to be Never Forget from Halo 3.

  4. No, dubstep doesn’t belong in Halo, just like a lot of other music genres don’t.

  5. From what I’ve heard of the soundtrack it’s not getting a “techno” feel. The drums and violins are still there with some really good writing. Digital enhancements only come in on key parts of the soundtrack, and I believe it’s a balanced mix.

  6. I plan to purchase the OST. The samples I’ve heard are really good.

  7. I like the music that Neil has created for Halo 4. I hope he’s here to stay and keeps making good music.

  1. Neil Davidge is making the tone darker and more mature, suiting it to Halo 4 and it’s futuristic metallic sounds.

  2. Yes, honestly. He has experience and he’s changing the tone of the music to match the tone of the game, which is darker and harsher than what we’ve experienced before.

  3. I don’t know, there are so many that come to mind that would just be so pleasing…

  4. Would you be OK with just one dub step song in Halo 4? Yes or No?

  5. Techno? What? Since when? More metallic and with harder melodies.

  6. Oh hellz yeah. Each OST has always been worthy of a purchase.

  7. Yup. I really do, as Davidge and Marty are both excellent.

I love In Amber Clad! The remix in the Halo 3 credits is even better!
