I am generally a solo player, only been in a party in this game thus far 2-3 times. But, for whatever reason, which is a good thing obviously, I’ve had alot of success when being down a player in slayer. I think it increases the urgency of being in a group of 3, because if you aren’t in the pack of 2, that means you’re solo, which means you become a pack of 3 real fast. I have no idea what the actual numbers are, but I’ve had plenty enough wins 3v4 to NOT complain about people quitting, if that makes sense. It’s a very nice surprise and removes a typical hole in Halo multiplayer I usually associate with this game only due to it being the only major shooter to not have players join mid match.
Seeing how the system sets matches up. Your an onyx in swat so its probably pairing you to fight unranked, gold, and below in swat. Because who needs fairness amiright?
I think you’re getting lucky with your matchmaking. If you’re winning 3v4’s constantly, that’s unbalanced. HOWEVER, if the LOWEST ranked person on your team is the one that quits, I could see it working in your favor.
If you’re playing SWAT, I actually see a higher win rate if there is 2v4 where the 2 win. Less bodies, single-shot kills, more deaths on the team with more players.

that wasn’t the response I was expecting, actually, I’m talking about slayer specifically. Swat I’ve only played 12-13 matches, and I can’t go in an open area without getting shot without fail.
I’m talking about slayer, where I’m gold 6 - yes that was the first gametype I got played when I started playing so wasn’t used to the controls and such, but I’m normally a warzone assault player. And in team slayer it seems like I go against platinums and such plenty of times. And yes unranked too.
I’ve only played 13 swat matches. I am horribly negative in swat, but I am 9-4 w/l. I am not talking about swat, lol… I’m sure I’d get better with more practice, I’m not finely tuned with the whole aiming setup and anticipation type stuff in that gametype yet.
