People say that the SAW fills this role, but I disagree. The suppressor seems more appropriate. It is close quarters with a high ROF. Does anybody else think the Suppressor is the SMG incarnate?

Yeah, seems so. It’s just… The SMG was never very good lol. I feel like the Surpressor will do best on maps with lots of corridors and corners.
Agreed, while I am generally, absolutely loving the Halo 4 weapon sandbox.

I mistake that I see a lot when people use the Suppressor is that they hold the trigger down and use it in mid range. They have to fire in controlled accurate burst in CQ.
In all those threads you’ll clearly see players such as myself pointing out that RoF does not make an LMG.
Power and lots of it in reserve makes an LMG. Tends to have range beyond mid.
An SMG is about lots of reserve and RoF. Tends to be restricted to very short range.
Both are fullyautomatic.

It has the largest mag out of all of the automatics and the biggest reticule too.

yea the suppressor looks alright. seen a couple of videos on it. But the SAW…wow. it seems like a insta-kill. I will try to call this anytime i can.

Why yes boo I do believe it has often been described as just that by a couple 343i employees, a Prome-SMG.

The Promethean weapons are designed for fighting Flood.
The Flood are much close quarters combatants, so weapons designed to shred at close range are very effective. They were not made to fight Spartans.
The SAW is a LMG.

Thats why I don’t believe it can be an SMG. They serve two very different purposes.
