We don’t know the true motivations of either Locke or Chief. Chief could very well be dangerous.

Not to mention his obsession with pushing buttons. That’s going to get him killed some day. I mean, all the terminals, Installation 4, Installation 4B, everything in Halo 4… All Locke would have to do is put a net over a big red button, and Chief is off home again.
Master Chief is the Jesus of the Haloverse. You’ll have those trying to talk him down, and paint a bad image of him, but the fact of the matter is, he is a miracle-producing, world-saving, alien-wrecking badass that has “messiah” written all over his character.

technically the precursors are the Jesus of the halo universe, or perhaps the flood since they consider themselves as one united being. Seriously though, there are plenty other events in halo trivialize his abilities. I’d like to see chief escape as mendicant bias takes control of a unsc fleet that are all suddenly only malleable to the priority of having his “mesiah” -Yoink- crushed like a twig.
