Support Group for those without Silentium

Title says it all, for those unlucky souls with expensive shipping, botched orders, or flat-out inaccessibility, I give you a cookie (::), and a shoulder to cry on.

We can hang out in here while we wait for our books, and hide from the spoiler-tagged threads which are no doubt covering 3/4 the thread listings.

There there now, it’s okay, it’s okay. Gods must be strong, you know.

In the mean time, to get some conversation to take our mind off these issues, anyone think they’ll do moar Spartan Ops? I heard it took a lot more time than they wanted, but I think/hope that the community liked it enough for more.

I think that they’ll do more Spartan Ops seasons for sure, because the latter half of the first season was extraordinary in my opinion. And also, they wouldn’t name it " Spartan Ops Season 1 " for no reason.

Sweet, I’m glad I’m not the only one.

I loved the second half too, minus the end. Really wish they stumbled on something huge (i.e. Installation 07, Greater Ark, etc), but I guess they wanted to save that for Halo 5.

When’s your book coming in, did you not buy it yet, or you just keeping me company for the sake of it? ^.^

I pre-ordered the book, but it hasn’t come in yet. AGH the anticipation! However, when I get it, I promise not to post anything that would spoil the book. Ever.

Now, when it comes to Spartan Ops, there’s only a few more places that could be candidates at to where the Infinity could be headed:

A Halo ring. (Finding the Halo rings was Infinity’s purpose, and fighting on a Halo ring is just way too classic.)
Sanghelios.
More of the Infinity.

I couldn’t obtain a copy of my own because it’s not out until the 28th, February here in the UK. I’m so very disappointed. :frowning:

I wish it was that date 'cause then we’d have it already. =p

It sucks we don’t get it 'till the 28th. Quite a bit after the US release date. So many people talking about it, whilst we must sit tight and wait. I nearly went out to look today, not knowing the date. Oh, we’ll. sad face

Yeah, my copy is supposed to come in Friday. As far as Spartan Ops season 2 is concerned, if it does happen, I would like to visit other Halo’s. I would also like to visit the Greater Ark, who knows what’s there!
And, this might be stretching it, but what if 343 holds off announcing a season 2 till E3? Maybe.
Also, another stretch, but what if the Precursors are introduced as an in game threat In SpOps season 2. From Silentium’s preview chapters, it sounds like the book goes into great detail with them. then why not put them in game? Though, maybe for Halo 5.

Actually, the Silentium Podcast mentions (at the very end) that they’ll reveal more information about SOps Season 2 at PAX.

Something to look forward to ^.^, looks like they have more plans for it.

I was looking for a thread like this. You, Me, and everyone else I’m sure are sick of waiting for the book to arrive. I ordered March 9th and find myself opening the front door every half hour to see if it’s at my doorstep. The anticipation is killing me. Curse you Barnes and Nobles! Although I can’t complain because it was a gift card purchase

But seriously hurry up B&N!

BWAAAA!

Oh, really? Nice.

So the podcast has no spoilers? I’ll give that a look.

I’ve never been this frustrated about having to wait for a later released Halo book. It doesn’t help that I’m reading crazy positive reactions on several sites. It’s unbearable to have to wait so long.

I’m just keeping you company for the sake of it. I love the company of friendly people ^~^

Ahh! Not sure. I didn’t watch it, a friend told me. Watch at your own risk, albeit I don’t think they’ll reveal the whole plot when they’d prefer you buy the plot and read it.

If it’s any consolation, I ordered mine on August 9th back in 2012. Yeah, it’s been 7 months, haha. Should be the end of the week for me, and so far the online .pdf scavenger hunt hasn’t turned anything up, either.

Hmm, then perhaps I’ll not listen 'till after. Can’t risk it.

Here’s hoping you get yours by the end of the week.

If only you guys would’ve bought the book as a book like sane people.

;p

I actually want a physical copy. I thought it was released here in the UK the same day as the US.

How long would it take to get here from overseas? Then there’s the shipping cost.

They may introduce the concept of the Precursors to gamers in Season 2, but I highly doubt it’ll go beyond a very brief summary of what their role is/was. Anything more would be diminishing Halo 5 and 6’s potential.

I prefer if they do it this way actually. Spartan Ops is obviously expository stories that build small details for Halo 5 and 6, relieving the preassure off of those stories to allow them to flow better. The Precursors require loads of expository explanation in the games for them to work–their very existence would raise a lot of questions, starting with “wait, the Forerunners for the Forerunners?” If they touch on those details in Spops, it’ll save the main trilogy a lot of trouble.

My local Chapters won’t be getting it until April, so I had to order it from Black Bond Books.

It hasn’t come in yet.

Hey, get out of here! You have a script to write ;D

Oh and Roberto, I liked the “Forerunners for the Forerunners!?” line, +1 for the kick.

Is there a reason you guys got the electronic versions over the hard copies? Unless I’m .pdf hunting for books I want right away, I never read books over electronic screens. I bought the hardcover, as with the others, but Amazon fell on its face and delayed my order a few extra days. Makes instant-syncing them ebooks from iTunes or Amazon look awesome (FYI, it’s on iTunes for 12 or 13 bucks, I believe).

Typically when I order books from Barnes & Noble, they arrive on the day it comes out.

Snowstorm blew through recently though, so I don’t know when I’ll be getting Silentium…I think I’ll call them.

Anyhow thanks for the cookie!
