Support for BTB?

Any updates whatsoever on BTB improvements, especially the ones that seem to have reverted?

I completely give up hope on any semblance of competitive matchmaking. Teams are half filled with people in their first 50 games getting ~200dmg. Can chalk that up to poor population I guess, but still a major let down to have to sweat every second to carry 6 brand new players every game.

Since day one, BTB still has:
Completely uneven vehicle spawns (give winning team tank in the last two minutes)
Mismatched weapon spawns between original spawns
Fireteam almost never in-game squad
Constant AFK
Stockpile is often forfeited because no one enjoys it
No limits to camping wasps below/outside of maps
Total control points favor one side on Highpower
Hitboxes on turret opponents are wildly inconsistent
Vehicles vastly outnumber anti-vehicle weapons/items

I get it’s a social playlist but fixing some issues from launch could give it some much needed competitiveness.

There was talks of updating the BTB playlist especially those uneven vehicle drops, but apparently it’s just gone radio silence now from 343. I would like to see a big BTB update.

You have to understand, fixing uneven vehicle spawns is a very complex task which takes a lot of resources and which completely shifts balancing - so it needs a lot of testing and adjusting, before such a change goes live.

Some of your complaints I don’t agree with, but some are very valid.

It sucks that BTB was supposed to be a pillar of the game but it’s just been completely forgotten outside of one new map in the year.

BTB is my preferred playlist, but I’ve been getting funneled out of it. Quick play is fun too, but I really enjoy playing objective in large maps with a lot of people and vehicles.

Giving the winning team a tank is so annoying and unfair. It just happened to me in CTF and it happens really often. It should be even and both teams should get a tank at the same time.

I like it because more people in a match can generally make it easier to play more casually and still do well. When you have less people per match, you’ll notice that being down a player is far more impactful on how well your team is, so you have to pressure yourself to play better in order to make up for the situations where you have more dead teammates ( or even abandoned teammates ) in order to keep the match fun instead of turning into a one sided curb stomp.

Not sure I follow if you like it because it’s a challenge to carry or easy to play casually. But I disagree with enjoying the challenge of consistently keeping the team competitive - or being on the other side of the situation. Wins and farming kills feels pretty low when half the team isn’t really firing back. Losses quickly feel inevitable.

My biggest complaint would be that more advanced players want to play some big map objective gametypes with reasonably matched opponents, which used to be a staple of Halo, used to be ranked. While learning players want to explore, learn weapons, vehicles etc.

The same way that a 4v4 isn’t ideal to have a player still learning the game with 6-7 other players that grind, BTB shouldn’t leave 25% of a team hung out to dry. It’s not all the time that games are like this but it’s more often than not. I don’t like seeing 0-22 players even in social, either they don’t care, are trolling, or are not having a good time in the game either.
