Support firefight, you support dumbing halo down

This is a long read. So if your attention span is only good for 1 minute videos and tweets, hit backspace. Also, im not going to use your damn emojis that are setting humans back to the stone age. -Yoinking!- electronic cave drawings. We can deliver them instantly instead of birds now that take a few days!
waves cane anyway, here we go.

Now, so this doesnt get locked for not being constructive, skip to the bottom with dashes for constructiveness. Stay up here if you want to hear why this game mode is laughable. Its not bad, however we need a customizable warzone.

I pay $50 a year for xbox live. Do i need to pay more to play a game online? Thats when i sell and go to playstation.

Lets begin by making a list of what warzone firefight has to offer the player. As in, what do you get for playing this mode.

Lots of enemies and coop on a large map
Bosses for everyone to gang up on (yeah you, stick it to the man!)
Different objectives
Unlimited lives
Not a solo mode
Requires reqs.

Now in my opinion, this game mode is fun. However lets break it down even more.
Lets say you use 5 reqs a game. You buy most of your reqs, or you earn them like me. Either way, it doesnt make you a better player. 5 reqs a game is roughly $1.32 USD.

Now, these game mode bosses are UNBEATABLE unless someone is calling in reqs. Defending the garage is also impossible because of the amount of knights, it would be do able with soldiers and crawlers and a few knights, but without reqs your team can only hold out so long in a small room versus enemies. The dps isnt there. The amount of enemies are good, but the SIGHT LINES and BASES the map fills you into are to small. That amount of enemies would work in a fortress (still less knights) but not the arc garage.

This mode doesnt force you to buy reqs, however it encourages it. You wont get past wave 3 without them.

Bosses are to easy and take to long. Adding health to a boss doesnt make it harder. It makes it take longer. The difficulty you feel fighting them is a placebo effect. Youre not actually getting any better at the game fighting these bosses.

Now, none of this is an issue to me. Ill play with friends and maybe call a req or two in for shennaigans, but in no means is this firefight as intended.

Firefight has always been about playing with friends and customizing. Map size to compliment how many enemies and sight lines.

Garage defense- to many enemies in base for 8 players. Its to small of a space for 6 knights with scattershots to patrol 8 players, regarfless of how much health they have. The scattershot upsets the balance.

Final boss-this might be fun for you all, but fighting 2 wardens and one mythic warden isnt difficult. Its tedious. This isnt hard, it takes a long time. I could beat him with a assault rifle if i ran back to the base every time i needed ammo. Go back to WoW and stop poisoning a fps franchise 343.

So simple MATH. $1.32 per game. Play 20 games, and you have the same entertainment value as halo reach

A game with so much detail the damn warthog has a speedometer. A game you can take out custom abilities in custom games if you want. A game you can play the new proprietary game mode in custom games or create your own forge maps for. Firefight you can spawn any enemy what weapon you get, shields, movement speed and how long it is, how much health they have, how much damage they do. Any difficulty you want, any game you want to play, you can CREATE. You also earn credits for customs.

343 like “hey guys, you know whats popular, wow, destiny. We need enemies like them”
343 also like “we have to move back the franchise. See, if we take out features that made halo 3 good in our first few games, then add them later, itll be like we came up with it! We can add a fileshare, a functioning ui, medal counts, custom games for firefight, warzone, a speedometer for the warthog, you know good stuff”

/rant.

Jk

Halo is missing still after 3 releases and a half a dlc cycle of halo 5
Custom games
Legacy modes-1 flag neutral assualt oddball headhunter infection alpha zombie rocket race…the list goes on
Fileshare that everyone can see most downloaded
Non laggy forge. It not the most capable. In fact, its no different then halo reach save for weather and looping sounds that are very annoying.
Custom firefight. Controlling what reqs you can use, how many you get, enemy health, your health, damage, ect.
Extra maps.
Working animations for vehicles and balance of said vehicles for modes outside warzone.
I still dont know why the hijacking character is invincible to damage from the tank said character hijacking
New vehicles physics are -Yoink-. Easy to drive, but -Yoink-. I shouldnt be able to rotate the vehicle in air just because youre able to in gta 5.
Creative enemy types that werent copied out of a avengers movie.

What did we get? New grifball maps, because a custom game based on a youtube series that a map is just a square really means theyre working.

This game was M for mature. NOT T for TIME FOR SHINEYS. Shineys are anything that make you feel better at a game by giving you a reward when youre not getting better as a player.

Normal chess is mature.
T for TFS chess (halo 5) is half the amount of pieces on the board, the board is now slanted, and everytime you loose a piece you can just buy it back!

Also in t for TFS chess, -Yoink- players can record that when they get one good kill on you!

Seriously, i dont even try anymore online. Im just going through the motions half the time because no one in the community is getting better at the game theyre just buying their way to compete, or practicing against bosses that have a lot of health and require no SKILL to beat.

You know, i heard from some players that this game mode is interesting. Well, so is puke if you are used to looking at poop.

You speak truth OP.

salt? but I agree with about half of the post

Truth

Agreed

I agree with what you said but you got to also think of it at a different perspective. MCC had a lot of content. But the servers were completely awful because they add to much content and I have a feeling that you did not play halo 4 because there was a ton of content in that game as well. They knew that halo 5 had to work on day one and had to look good for it to do that. That is the approach they took. They also add the REQ system to help out with paying for the game. When a game is ship, you only get the sales from the selling of it, with the system that they have, they can work on the game as it continues. I am not saying that it is the best answer but there is a lot worse option out.

And when they dropped grifball, they dropped a lot more customizations then you have given them credit for, you can do a heck of a lot more inside these game options then you could in the past ones. Maybe the past ones did that because they wanted to make something work for something specific instead of creating one thing that works for many things? Sure the TTK is a lot shorter. But it is still halo and I feel like I am still having fun playing it.

And with firefight, people have done this with friends the issue that you have had. they used load outs the whole time and were able to go through the whole thing. Plus, the playlist is called Warzone Firefight BETA. It is not going to be perfect. I remember the times where people played the Beta to enjoy a game/mode that was still under construction.

How about you don’t use REQs, lose round 3, get >1500 points, buy stuff with REQ points?

In the live stream the devs confirmed that it was beatable without REQ’s at all, just very difficult. So your point about it being unbeatable is wrong. Even if it were true, would you rather have game modes added in only if they could be beatable without the use of REQ’s? That would make Firefight laughably easy with tanks and rocket launchers…

The rest of your post is basically just whining, par for the course on this forum. "whaa, whaa, (insert a fraction of what we’ve gotten through free DLC), whaa whaa, (insert giant list of content from several different halo games that should all be in Halo 5, plus a few other random things).

Also, you’ve played 4 Warzone Firefight games and only have one win. I’m not pointing this out to belittle you, its a team effort and obviously impossible to solo. I’m pointing this out because you said the game mode is easy and takes no skill to complete, and people are just buying their way to completion. I think your 25% success rate says something else.

I know ive had only one win. I quit my first game to buy reach again. I dont care about winning, i care about having fun.

The devs say that because theyve had a negative reaction to pay to win PR. Youve never experienced a liar have you?

Whining? No. We have gotten half -Yoinked!- content. This game has less content then halo 1 and 2 combined. Its a incompletemess that was shoved out the door as soon as reqs were thought of. If mcdonalds said okay, now on your sandwhiches, you get no ketchup, also you get no bun. Its okay though, we had it a year ago, its gone now though. Thats a -Yoink- defense and you know it. Successful franchises dont move backwards and stay successful. They can innovate, but why remove everything that made halo successful?

I’d love to see a team take down Warden Eternal with just Assault Rifles and Magnums.

I think Firefight wouldn’t be a problem as is except that 343 is forcing Stat Tracking onto a ‘casual (give or take)’ PvE gamemode. No one calls in Reqs? Lol eat a loss. I can win Warzone Assault without a single Req, but not Warzone Firefight?

This post holds so much truth!! I agree 100%

> How about you don’t use REQs, lose round 3, get >1500 points, buy stuff with REQ points?

Because the game isnt about getting your one use req card per game. Youre learning how to cheat, not get good at something.

You are literally playing 7 games to get 9 good reqs…

Let me rephrase this. You are playing 7 games to have fun 1 game

Too vs to. Sheesh.

I’m usually not a grammar -Yoink!-, but it made it painful to read.

Anyway, like it has been said a million times before. They are a business designed to make money. If you don’t like the product go play something else. Quit wasting people’s time crying about how you don’t like it. Posts like these are a cancer on Waypoint.

Blah blah blah… I don’t like reqs because apparently you can only buy them… Blah blah blah… reqs are evil… Blah blah blah…

I really thinking using reqs in firefight is not worth it which is why it should be infinite. So if you have the commendation, you can use it but it will have a cooldown.

Who said I’m learning how to cheat? You get REQ points whether you win or lose. You’re the only one who decides whether to use REQs or not.

You can use those REQ points to get better stuff. You really don’t need anything beyond REQ level 7 for half the stuff. Bunch of Ghost Ultras take out Wardens if you attack from behind and don’t get hit.

You went to buy Reach, a game that pandered completely to the casual community and considered the start of “the death of Halo”? (Well all of them since Halo 2 was the death of Halo)

You say you care about having fun, yet you’re spending more time about how to make your REQ points worth it than actually playing.

It is hard to read because this is not graded and I simply do not give a -Yoink-. This is being typed on my phone, as fast as possible, with no formatting.

You needed a comma after “before”

Posts like this are from people that actually care. Halo is just the start, the Helms Deep of gaming if you will.

Haha! You typed all that on a phone?!? Wow! You must have really been riled up to type all that on a phone.

I care about Halo, I’m just tired of the incessant complaining day in and day out. It’s not constructive. This is a beta. Yes, it requires reqs. So what? They’re trying to make money like all successful companies.

Haha you think PSN is free. You lost me right away when you said something as stupid as that
