Superintendent never had dialogue. Why did 343 think it was a good idea to include dialogue for Vergil? If there was one AI to choose from to have the option to not constantly be barraged with dialogue itd be Vergil from ODST. Please, don’t change stuff that was already good. It’s like trying to give R2D2 the ability to talk and TOTALLY screwing it up. Just have the ODST sounds he made and that’s it. Give us the choice and don’t mess with things that made Halo and its associated games so damn good.
Edit: It was not my intention to offend anyone with this post or make people come out guns blazing. The Superintendent A.I unlocks at the same time as the UA/ODST armor so it’s safe to say it goes hand in hand with 2nd Gen Superintendent AI called Vergil who mostly doesn’t have audible dialogue throughout Halo 3:ODST. Instead we get a Superintendent AI that seriously distracts you from the gameplay online because it’s so bad. I’m a huge ODST fan and was super stoked that it was would have seemed to be Vergil. To have an AI option that does not talk but subtly cues you with clever sound blips and bleeps like Vergil did in New Mombassa gameplay. I would have loved to have AI that cues like Vergil does or something similar anyway and I’m sure most agree.
Well, first off Virgil does have dialogue in ODST. “Keep it clean. Warning: hitchhikers may be escaping convicts.” Second, this is not the ODST New Mombasa superintendent. It’s a superintendent AI.
Peed in my cheerios? I didn’t think my post came off as being aggressive or hostile to you, but it would seem you thought it was. It wasn’t my intention to seem like I was attacking you. I was simply stating Virgil does have lines in ODST, and while the Superintendent AI companion here in Infinite is supposed to be a callback to him it isn’t him. As for cringy dialogue, you can say that for pretty much all the AIs’ dialogue.
Your OP has an exclamation in the title, and the body attacks 343 for a menial design decision. You set the aggressive tone for this thread from the start.
An exclamation point in the title set an aggressive tone? Lol Damn. Okay. Ill be careful about using exclamation points. Ill be honest, I haven’t posted in a forum for several years now.
