As an ODST fan, I didn’t need this video to tell me that, but it showcases the difference between what Vergil sounds like vs what we got.
We’re missing the jingle, and the pitch, and the overall correct tone. Why didn’t they use the original voice actor? (Edit: apparently they did so they definitely can fix it) Or at least get someone closer because this is way off.
Disappointing. Please change it.
Everything is the same, except the voice isn’t pitched higher. It’s the same voice actor.
As I said. They have a lack of the jingle and the pitch isn’t right. It needs to be fixed.
umm as far as I know they had Joe Staten do it and he was the OG voice actor, it might sound different because of better or different sound recording equipment
They simply didn’t do the right alterations. It needs to be done.
The jingle?
What you talking about? It plays the jingle every time you mark a location.
Only when you mark the location. In ODST the jingle is played everytime Vergil speaks.
That would get very annoying tbh
It can already be annoying if you spam pings.
I at least ask for the same voice alterations. It is not right. Did you even watch the video?
I thought the same and agree.
Look at the legacy of halo voice acting, elites would say “blarg blarg blarg and wort wort wort”? I think they took somebody’s voice and run it backwards
Yeah I do notice this superintendent sounds different, but it’s the same voice actor, which is also the same guy who created halo 3: odst and wrote/created the other games.

Yeah I knew he wrote the games, I just didn’t look up who the actor was. I was going to when I first heard how off it was and I just ended up not.
That makes it more surprising because it means they can recreate it to be right.

Actually I think you hear it when you’re in a strongholds objective as well.
I think he joined infinite last second. Maybe they rushed the superintendent voice recordings.
Like you said, it may sound off but he still makes me laugh
I know I love having it, and I think maybe some lines could be better, but they can always patch it like any other bug that they have. It’s quite simply off and off putting.
When I have played so much ODST and the voice is burnt into my head, and then I hear these callouts, it’s just so wrong.

Yeah I see by you’re gamer picture that you are an ODST brother
You’re not alone in wanting a hot patch. I couldn’t imagine them calling in the voice actor and having him redo his lines.
Maybe they could take the recordings and modify them to emulate the legacy game? Not sure on on the actual solution

Yeah I expect sound designers can do their job, ya know? I just don’t know how whoever was assigned to this didn’t even get it close.
And he’s the “Head of Creative” according to his LinkedIn, so it shouldn’t be too hard to get a hold of him if they need to re-record anything.
but I’ll literally take them just modifying the original recordings to be in line with the original ODST alterations.

Wort wort wort is Sgt. Johnson saying “Go, Go, Go!” backwards. Well documented

Yeah, from what I’ve heard, all the lines elites say are backwards renditions of Johnson.
I was about to say Johnson but I didn’t want to be wrong, thank you
