So we all know Halo 4 is very laggy at times. Especially for me living in Australia as all servers are US dedicated. You might get a few bad games but you always end up with a good one or two. My connection is sweet, its not my end.
But today has been horrendous! Every single match. Im not even kidding. Ive posted a bit here and never thought to have to bring this issue up. Is anyone else getting this, specifically Aussie gamers?
Normally different times of day are different in severity of lag, but today its all been terrible.
Actually its been getting slightly worse since Xbox One release. I hope servers are not getting pulled as 360 is still releasing games…
It’s a P2P configuration (Halo doesn’t use dedicated servers), so its a question of the low population and how the system puts together the match. At this hour, most of the playlists have a handful of people in them, who are spread across the globe.
Yes i understand that but it needs severs to connect and choose the host.
Ive been playing (normally) with about 1000 - 2000 players on BTB, its never been this bad…
I’m pretty sure Plastic is right, it’s due to the poor population - good connection matches just aren’t consistently available unfortunately.
If there’s no trouble on your end, I assume that, for whatever reason, there are fewer people than usual in your region playing the game. It’s also possible that the XB1 has drained away some of the folks you would have encountered in the past.
Speculating further, the influx of new Xbox 360s purchased over the holidays (many included Halo 4), which lack host history, might be amplifying the problem.
I have the same issue, every match lags. Two possibilities, ISP congestion on my side or just horrible hosts.
