Is there any way that 343 could put super jumping back into the game? I would assume no but those were some of what made halo 2 such a fun game.
I think those glitches actually had something to do with the pixel distortions in the game, and how you could exploit those problems in certain parts of the maps. So since this is on a newer console with a faster frame rate and better (clearer) graphics, I dont believe they can add them in… there may be something they might be able to work around, but I doubt it… things will never be exactly the same lol
Heres a brief explanation.
On H2’s geometry there are points where they connect polygons to create a seamless map. This has nothing to do with the hardware involved; it wasn’t like original xbox bogged down to make these jumps possible… if you took the original halo 2 burned it to a CD and made it compatable with the one they would still work.
The reason it isn’t as easy is the 60fps. The old 25-30fps meant less frames per second, which made getting your feet stuck in the seams much easier. Thats why you ‘charge’ up, it puts your feet very very slightly under the surface making the jumps easier. Also this is why it is still possible, although much more difficult. The frames make it harder to get your feet to slip in the seams.
