Super Fiesta MM needs 4 major fixes

Okay so we need to dial down the “scrub friendly” things in Super Fiesta.

  1. REMOVE GRENADES!

Reason: I cannot stress enough how cheap and skilless this is. Scrubs just camp corners with grenades and have their teammates take you down after popping your shields. If it were a Grenade Launcher I’d understand but frag grenades need to be removed from this mode in mm.

  1. Radar, make it go away please…

Reason: What reason ISN’T there to remove the radar from this? Seriously all people do is group up, camp in a corner, and use their radar to just spam rockets and grenades, the radar needs to be removed, this is supposed to be “Chaos at it’s finest!” not “Coordination of noobs wins the day!”

  1. Teams, why not FFA?

Reason: Ok this actually isn’t a request to remove teams, but at least make a FFA variant of Super Fiesta in it’s own playlist. I’m so tired of getting quad teamed it’s ridiculous! Not to mention these maps are so cramped that 10 players can easily allow for one team to spawn camp an entire game. Maybe dial down the player limit to 8?

  1. MAPS! THEY SUCK!

Reason: I can’t tell you how infuriating SF is on Beaver Creek or Stasis, it’s just one big spawn camp for whoever gets the “high ground” first. Remove these sorts of maps from the rotation.

I’m sure using “scrubs” as your term will garner you support…

Anyway, I like the chaos of super fiesta. Grenades aren’t a huge issue for me (quite frankly you shouldn’t really be dying from them in the first place unless you’re camping).

The only thing I can agree with is the implementation of a FFA variant.

The motion tracker is fine. I like to know when I’m about to get into a fight with a bad guy, instead of 99% of my deaths being surprises from around corners. I haven’t seen as much camping as you have, I guess. Also I wouldn’t mind if they removed grenades but I’d rather have them remove all the loadout weapons

I agree with all of this. Fiesta is fine imo

You’re clearly taking Super Fiesta way too seriously, a game type with random luck at its core.

My only issue is maps. These “community made” ones should go back into hibernation on the customs list, especially Hang Em High.

No I’m not. I’m going off of iterations of fiesta slayer from LITERALLY EVERY OTHER HALO GAME with my expectation. The term “Chaos at it’s finest” doesn’t even describe Super Fiesta nowadays. “Chaos at its Finest” is when players are completely helpless to stop a bad situation from happening, OR they just spawn in with god tier weaponry off the bat. There shouldn’t be a “middle man” of grenades and radar. I host custom super fiesta with 5 things disabled:

  1. Radar

  2. Grenades)

  3. Spartan Charge

  4. Weapon Pickup

  5. Weapon Dropping

Not once have I EVER had anyone send me a complaint about the gamemode itself. Neither in text or voice chat. So it clearly isn’t as unpopular an idea as most of you are making it out to be.

Im fine with it the way it is. I always have fun when i jump in the playlist.

I have fun with this playlist. It’s always my go to playlist when I go on H5. Since it has been in Social Arena it has been probably my most played mode.

I have a few issues, though.

  1. I’m a bit indifferent on grenades, given the recent nerf to them, I’ll have to play a lot more of the update and the game to see if much has changed, but in the past update, yes, grenades are unnecessary. However, a well timed thruster pack can avoid the grenades, and repositioning after that can help you further.

  2. Radar is a life-saver for those who use it enough. The Radar for 90% of people I’d say is underused. If anything I don’t think enough people use it. Yes it can be used for campers, but realistically, that range is so low that it would take a short time for this to happen. You could crouch as well, you could completely avoid that area.

3+4 I agree with, although in my experiences of Super Fiesta, and after 250+ games of it, I haven’t really noticed that many quad team players in it. And the maps are rubbish, to be fair. But I suppose, being 5v5 on cramped maps add to the chaos of Super Fiesta. It’s not supposed to be a mode that provides fairness to an extent like Ranked Arena, a lot of the time whether you win or not is down to the weapons you spawn with, so I’m a bit more reluctant, in that way.

This … Big time!!.. It’s fiesta for crying out loud… It is not about skill or anything. It’s just supposed to be a chaotic fun kill fest. I loved that they put the anniversary throwback maps in rotation here. Those maps are great. But I would love to see a FFA gametype thrown into the mix as well.

  • grenades I don’t have an opinion on here as everything explodes already - I’d like to know where the sword guy is thank you. and as if the radar makes to much of a difference in most scenarios because again, everything is exploding - oh my god yes please, I’d love a ffa super fiesta - there are a few maps I’d argue for but for the most part yes, they don’t work well with super fiesta. some larger maps would be enjoyable. beaver creek is straight up impossible in the game mode because of those portals.

the camping seems more frequent as a lower rank. unless you’re on beaver creek because no matter what there will always be at least one guy waiting by the portals. as far as the rank thing, I’ve played on my brothers account several times before when ever our third brother was using the Limymage one for destiny and I hated it. I was only ever paired with lower ranked people or just people with lower skill or stats or something because the only way anyone ever knew how to get a kill was to camp.

I really enjoy Fiesta. The only things would be to remove hang em high in my opinion.

I’m down with all of these changes.

  • grenades have nothing to do with the focus of the mode and overall take away from the usage of the weapons.
  • I could go either way with radar as it would affect many of the weapons for better or worse and might drastically change how the mode is played (probably more campy)
  • FFA as an option? Yeah! The more options the better I say!
  • I don’t have any particular problems with any of the maps but I’m fine with removing some of them as long as ‘better’ ones are added.

There are waaaay too many weapons being randomized in my opinion

What do you expect from Halo 5? I mean there are still weapons missing from SF like the Golf Club, Grifball, Flagnum, and soon to be the Oddball Skull.

Grenades take away from the usage of weapons? You don’t truly believe that, do you? Once you use your two grenades, all you have left are your weapons. If anything, the grenades help people who get screwed over by Lady Luck and spawn with normal weapons when everybody else has better stuff. At least you’ve got a chance (however slim it may be) to make a clutch play if you have a grenade to use instead of just waiting to die.

Removal of radar would likely just turn the game into Super Assassination Fiesta and/or Super Camping Fiesta. This would be the one thing that would likely take away from people using their weapons solely because someone will have run up on you and killed you before you could even get a shot off or you’ll run into a room where someone was waiting and get killed before taking a shot. Though, I guess on the bright side, it might force you to run with your teammates more if someone spawns with a really good weapon.

In any case, removal of grenades and radar isn’t likely to make Super Fiesta any better from a gameplay standpoint. It would certainly make things even more frustrating though.

It’s defintely not about skill, especially if your n00bs are going 0/24 from getting spawn killed due to the map being essentially “two gray pylons. and a wide open field”.

In a world where anyone can spawn with a High Five, grenades are the least of my concern. Plus, they can be a life saver when you spawn with just a pistol and AR.

Radar is a tool, anyone can use it so it is fair. Tricking people is part of the game.

FFA version would be great! Maybe not at 10 per map, but that would just add to the chaos.

On radar, yeah, I have the same fears of it turning into a camp fest as said earlier. Personally, I prefer having the radar around in matches overall but I’m saying I’d be open to playing Super Fiesta without radar to see how things shake down. But it’d most likely be a detriment to the fun factor.

On grenades, I was talking “overall” so, no, I don’t “truly believe that” cause I was talking in a general sense. Of course it helps in conjunction with the non-power-weapons. Again, what I’m saying is grenades take some of the focus away from the weapons themselves, even though some of the more basic ones are closely tied to to the best strategies to use the weapon. Thing is, this is a social playlist game. Its not meant to be ‘competitive’ and this is really apparent with the wildly random weapons making it more of a fun luck of the draw and how you deal with it gamemode. After all, people are constantly dying in that mode (even with their amazing power weapons) so if you get bad ones you can fairly easily replace what you don’t like.
