Super Fiesta matchmaking needs some adjustments

Alright so I’ve played quite a few games of Super Fiesta recently and noticed a few problems so here’s wht I’m requesting to be patched for the Matchmaking version:

  • No more Radar, it makes it too easy for campers to get kills, especially with Prophet’s Bane and Tartarus’ Gavel

  • Remove grenades please, we have grenade launchers and we don’t need players constantly spamming grenades

  • Make our shields recharge like 10-20 percent faster that way we don’t spend 30 seconds behind cover while being bombarded by rockets

  • Max out the reload speed for both tactical and empty reload speeds, it feels like I’m playing as a turtle every time I reload

No radar due to campers - Its fiesta anyone with a rocket/cannon can take out campers
Grenades - useful when you get -Yoink- weapons like boltshot/loadouts and for taking out campers in corners, which was your first problem
Shield recharge - Fine the way it is, really doesn’t take that long to recharge given its the same in every mode and would make certain weapons obsolete (storm/brute rifles)
Reload speed - Would make little to no difference to the gameplay since reloading rarely changes the outcome in terms of gameplay, and is the same in all game modes

Honestly, can’t say I agree with a single of your suggestions, but last I checked its a free country and you’re entitled to your opinion so fair enough

Well apparently you weren’t paying attention to what I was saying.

  • First off I’m not saying removing the radar will remove campers, I know it won’t, but it WILL make it harder for them to camp without rockets.

  • Secondly grenades are just a crutch for players with no skill, the only players actually get good at the game is without the “crutch” of grenade spamming. If you get a boltshot, and can’t kill someone you don’t deserve a grenade kill either.

  • Thirdly I can’t tell you how much the stupid–Yoink- shield system screws over this game as a Halo title, Halo has always been about players choice of strategy, you wanna run and gun, go ahead, you’ll die but there’s a chance you’ll take a few with you, you wanna play tactical go ahead, but this shield recharge system completely ruins that, this mode is supposed to be chaotic not one-sided. If an entire teams shields are simultaneously taken down the can’t even fight back due to the ridiculously fast ttk in this game.

  • Finally as someone who plays with increased reload speed I can say it makes ALL the difference of a match, you shoot, get the kill reload, and you’re good to go by the time you encounter another enemy. Plain and simple.

  • Camping really isnt a problem in super fiesta though is it? Most people play offense when they get rockets rather than camp, as you said its supposed to be chaotic so camping really isnt a problem
  • To say Gernades are a crutch is pretty stupid. With that logic you shouldnt be able to melee someone, if you cant kill them with your gun “you dont deserve a kill with melee” or if you can’t dodge by strafing you “dont deserve to dodge by thrusting”. Made no sense, its literally a part of the game. Instead of removing it, get better with it?
  • I think the no recharge whilst sprint makes perfect sense, if you have mythic weapons like a gavel or SPNKR prime you could literally just keep sprinting and killing everyone, then proceed to sprint away at a higher speed whilst recharging shields so no one can kill you as you run away either.
  • I’m not saying faster reloads arent helpful, but the only mode you see that is in Warzone and the only time its helpful is when you face someone who doesn’t have the same reload speed as you. If both your speeds are the same, it doesn’t matter if you increase the speed for everyone since the mechanics will stay the same. Also, slow/fast reloads are part of the game, if you could quickly reload weapons like SPNKR/SAWs then they’d become too OP

The only bit I agree with here is the removal of radar. Everything else should stay the same. I also fail to see how grenades are a crutch.

Dude, it’s Fiesta. It’s not intended to be balanced or competitive (I mean you can play that way, but I don’t). It’s the most fun game we have, don’t try to ruin it.

I play Super Fiesta in customs with the following settings:

  • No grenades

  • No weapon dropping/pickup

  • No radar

  • No Spartan Charging

My friends and I all agree that these settings make the game more enjoyable for several reasons:

  • It prevents blowout matches

  • It forces us to learn how to use each weapon in the game to our advantage despite spawning with boltshots or DMR’s

  • It teaches us not to rely on grenade kills unless we have one of the launchers

  • It makes the game more enjoyable for everyone playing and not just one part of the community or the other

  • It gets us to learn how to use the map layouts to our advantage, something most non-pro Halo 5 players rarely do

This version I have is titled Super Fiesta Pro, an homage to classic game types in older titles having Pro in their name.

Every game type that has the word pro in it I immediately disregard.

Super fiesta is fine as is.

When I put “Pro” in the name, I don’t actually mean for it to be sweaty or try hard-y, I mean for it to be closer to the original mode that I fell head over heels for. Again it’s not mean to be sweaty, just meant to be similar to the original mode.

What are you even talking about? Skilled players use grenades and spam just like no skilled players do and players that aren’t skilled are still gonna be bad with or without grenades. Your boltshot example isn’t even a good example for Super Fiesta either considering there are plenty of weapons that can easily beat a boltshot before it kills someone.

Exactly my point. Grenades are powerful, but thanks to weapon pickup and the genade launchers, we don’t NEED grenades as they just encourage people to sit around corners and use the radar to get cheap/unfair kills. It’s Super Fiesta, not grenade wars. Most Super Fiesta matches I play both teams, save for myself, have their tool of destruction as Frag Grenade, this to me tells me people rely more on the grenades than weapons in Super Fiesta.

I think it plays fine as is… It’s a social game mode it’s supposed to be fun and not serious game play.

I really like that no nade idea. Would really emphasize the weapons.

You and your friends are all stupid. The game is fine to play as it is intended. You can still play “pro” with the normal settings. Making the game less fun to play doesn’t automatically make it “pro”. All of the things listed (such as map control and ‘making the game more enjoyable’ [which is a very awkwardly slanted opinion]) can be done with the game the way it is.

You also say “relying on grenades” like it isn’t a part of the holy trinity of Halo. Seriously man.

Honestly I could say the same thing about anyone who actually says Halo 5 is a good Halo game.

Super Fiesta is all that I play for the last however many months it was made permanent. The thing I dislike the most is it has far too many scoped long guns. They need cut thost back by like 80%. The ruin almost every game. Keep it to big sloppy power type weapons and people will be happy.

Yeah I was just remembering earlier today what made Halo unique in its time, or at least one of the things. The fact that only Snipers, Lasers, Mid-range Rifles, and Rockets had scopes. So really most of the old Halo weaponry didn’t have a “scope” mode. Now it feels like everyone can get a perfect kill with minimal effort thanks to the scope being added to ALL of the weapons. But yeah I feel that also hurts Super Fiesta in a way.

Starting an “argument” with a statement like that just ensures that no one will take the rest of your insults seriously. I did chuckle a bit, though not as much as I did back in the day.

Although I like Super Fiesta the way it is I think your customs version looks interesting and fun for more competitive players. Contrary to what you said, I think that putting that version into the current broken MM system would actually lead to bigger blow outs. The current SF is a frantic, luck based frenzy, and the unfairness is a skill gap equalizer. That’s why people jump on it for casual fun. Yours is more skill based and I’m sure you and your friends balance the teams to be close.

I get extremely triggered when people say halo 5 has fast kill times let all e how you put jt as ridiculously fast kill times. Go look up the stats buddy its slightly faster and in some cases slower. The only time the kill time is slightly to fast is with automatics. And a select few power weapons. If you really want to see ridiculously fast kill times play cod and die before you can blink your eyes.
