This montage is super cereal and shows all the super cereal skilful things you can do with sprint. All Halo 5 clips were recorded over the last 3 days, there were other examples I just didn’t remember to save them all. The other random Halo clips are mostly just there to show I’ve played the other Halo games and I’m pretty good at all of them since people like to tell people to adapt around here. Some of them show the differences between running away in the other games compared to now however. This video was inspired by a similar video that got 3,000 views and a response from Josh Holmes on twitter that is seen in this video. He wants someone to try and make a video of getting out of situations in the other Halo’s as well, that video will be coming after the Beta is over. This will not be my last sprint video either.
Please watch the video before commenting. 343 wants feedback so I’m giving it to them. I don’t hate 343 or Halo 5, I just hate sprint. If you don’t like my video or don’t understand it that is fine, if I can at least convince one person sprint is bad for Halo by making this video then I will feel accomplished.
Edit:
Here is an addional video breaking down how sprint helps me survive in one of the clips from my video.
No wonder everyone says people who don’t like sprint are crybabies, all the people not -Yoinking!- and moaning just get ignored so you can try and prove a point.
I watched the video, and I am not sure I understand the meaning of the point you are trying to make. A few times it looked like you’d shoot someone once and start running as soon as they shot back… that just isn’t realistic, but that wasn’t every scenario.
I realize you are trying to show us that with sprint and boost, it’s possible to get out of situations that you most likely would have died in. First off, that’s all you have to show for 3 days of games? 10 escapes or so? What would you say your success rate for escaping was? A good player will know the escape capabilities of the enemy, and should keep that in mind during the fight. It’s not hard to predict escape routes.
Secondly, I’m not sure why this is even a bad thing to begin with. Why is it bad to be able to have a chance at escape if you are being overwhelmed? There is risk involved. You’ll have to measure the likeliness of you getting at least one kill if you stand and fight, or maybe getting no kills if you run and get shot in the back. Does this not add another layer of depth where all there was previously was strafe jump BR battles? So the enemy ran away, you didn’t get the kill, but he didn’t get one either. He likely is out of position after running away in panic and may not be able to help his team out while he recovers. It’s not like you gain nothing at all from an enemy running and hiding.
I’m not personally for or against sprint. I love the beta (almost as much as Halo1-3 mp), and will buy and play the game on release whether it has sprint or not. I’m just trying to understand.
I am not a pro-player. I am not a “skilled” player. I was never 50 in Halo 3 (I capped out at 47) I was never Onyx in Halo Reach. I am only Gold in Halo 5.
That being said I find sprint amusing. I enjoyed it from it’s inception in Halo Reach. I felt other tools like jet-pack and armor lock did mess up the pacing of the game while sprint felt natural to me. No longer is the game purely based on twitch-skill. It allows me to retreat, strategize and potentially outsmart my opponent as they chase.
I’m sorry the game you want isn’t being made.
I enjoy this beta as much as I enjoyed playing through Halo 3, which to me was the iteration of the series I derived the most enjoyment.
I’d much rather this game get made over the one you’re suggesting. It’s selfish I know.
I’d just like to note that there are no situations here when you are having a firefight and just sprint away. Almost all of these clips are you ditching the fight and THEN sprint. Sprint doesn’t affect this.

and alot of the time in the clips it looks like hes purposely await to be shot just to sprint away to try and prove a point.
Also, any good player/team will call out sprinting players who have no shields and kill them quickly before they can do anything anyway.

This is true, though I will point out this: Halo 4 balanced sprint better.

If you see I’m no shields every time I run, if I ever feel I won’t win a battle I run and so do most other good players. This is why we all hate it so much and this is why I made this video. This isn’t all I have to show, these are just the ones I managed to save, I don’t have a kinnect so its not as easy to record the clips. And it is a bad thing because it gives the player who put them selves in a bad sittuation the advantage. It slows down gameplay because everyone does it and I personally find it boring, the only time I’ve enjoyed this game is when I’m stomping on people and that wasn’t close to true for other Halo’s. And yes they do add another layer but sprint pretty much ruins that because when you cans sprint, thrust, and clamber it becomes even easier to survive. Just thrust and clamber alone wouldn’t break anything, I actually enjoy the concept and how the abilities worked out. Sprint just breaks them.
Thank you for responding in a civil manner instead of calling my a crybaby and such, I wish there were more posters like you here.

Please make a specific example of what clip you are referencing, I have the full un-edited clips still on my recent clips so I can bring them up. There was one clip that wasn’t that great of an example but I edited it so no one can tell. None of these clips are “on purpose”, they are simply decisions I made in the heat of the moment. I have been playing the last two Halo games with a similar playstyle and so do most players that are very good at the game. If you think your gunna die and you know you can easily get away it’s always better to live another day and try again when you get your shields back.
Some may say that takes skill and adds depth, I say it’s stupid and boring. And it’s not the way I like to play Halo, but I don’t really have a choice if I want to win games.

So many ignorants here or just bad players. The video legitimately shows wise decision making in given circumstances. He doesn’t have support of allies & in situations where he is quickly outnumbered or at a disadvantage. Skilled players know the difference & only battle if they are confident they can win. Perhaps he could probly trade a kill at times but often that would have cost his team the sniper which he was holding.

Please do! Your music choice was genius too. I look forward to your future projects!

Yes it does, because if a player wants to catch up to me they need to put their gun away and sprint making them unable to shoot. As long as I get myself into cover before they can start sprinting I will survive every time unless I run into one of their team mates. Considering we have a radar it becomes easy to not do that.
