He was awesome enough to include a tl;dr at the end which I can put below for you
It’s worth reading in full though as there is some great info about the new TrueSkill 2 system and what it means for Halo pushing forward (spoiler: this is a good thing, 100% honest this is a good thing)
Here’s a recap of what you’ll find in Halo 5 matchmaking when the Summer 2018 season kicks off on May 1: Social Playlists
Quick Play - Super Fiesta - Rotational Slot 1: Shotty Snipers - Rotational Slot 2: Triple Team - Infection - Big Team BattleRanked Playlists
Slayer - Team Arena - Doubles - SWAT - Elimination - Free-For-All - HCSAlso, be sure to mark your calendars, because Warzone Turbo will make its return on Thursday, May 24 and will stay up until Tuesday, May 29.
This all sounds good but one thing I did want to bring up was having the different modes in elimination. The original breakout will have reduced amounts of shields ? Where as breakout 2.0 and extermination will have full shields ?
I actually made a similar topic in the match making forums as I didn’t see this…opps lol
Anyways, I said this there, but I’ll say it here now lol
Personally, I’m glad to see Extermination in Ranked. I’m not big on either versions of Breakout to be honest, but glad Extermination is getting more play as I feel (and i know many others) think it’s what breakout should of been from day one. I hope Extermination is back in Halo 6 as it’s own playlist.
Overall, I like these changes except for maybe mixing normal FFA and HCS FFA. I could see that causing some issues with a lot of non HCS FFA players. I’ve said this before, if HCS FFA is going to be a thing now, it needs it’s own playlist I think for those players to practice.
Glad to see 343I taking feedback from us though

It’s not very popular that’s why. My buddy will be sad about this too, but I understand why they are removing it. It may be back though someday, who knows right.
Why remove the Team Snipers playlist? I know it’s not popular, but MM will mainly lose players who only play snipers rather than distributing those players to other playlists. What could it hurt to leave it on there just for those who still like to play it?

Well with the people I’ve seen they play other playlist as well. It’s a giant bummer though
Very interesting stuff! A shame that Action Sack will be going away for a bit (my friends and I would play it all day long), but the changes might compensate for that.
Just hope I can be back in action before my birthday (May 13th)…
