Can we trade them?
Or can we bet them? Like if people want to put up ‘rare’ or ‘unique’ rated cards, they lose them if they lost to the other team, but if they win, they actually win the same rated cards from the other team?
I’m sure we could make some sort of trading system pretty easily, but the betting system may be a bit hard to ensure that we get the correct ‘betters’ on opposite teams, but I just figured it would be cool to have.
This could be cool! An in-game economy would be awesome, variety in weapon skins/attachments would have to be huge.

Exactly, and then they would more than likely not have people complaining about ‘microtransactions’, because most people would never even think about it, due to being able to grab the few cards they DO want.
Idk, most games have a terrible trading/in-game economy but if they could make it work…

True, depending on the implementation, it could help, or hurt.
Josh Holmes already said that you can’t trade them with other players. The closest thing would be the trade-in system where you can trade in cards for their value in REQ points, which is obviously still not even close to what you meant.

I said this was a suggestion, not what IS happening.
It would be a nice thing for 343 to add in down the road. But I want them to focus on making a healthy stable game for the first couple months before the move on to adding things.

In the same spirit, I would like to suggest that the smoke trails from the sniper rifle form a glittery rainbow as the smoke blows away lol.
While it may be interesting to trade or gamble with REQ cards, it’s not going to be something we see Good suggestion though!
Req. Cards are about personal accomplishment. Trading is not allowed because:
- It allows for the creation of a black/grey market for incentives to trade “high end” cards. No need to let Kelly’s Rabbit be traded for a Ghost and $20 real world money when that $ can go towards the game and tournaments through Req. Point Bundles.
- If you get a card you don’t want/need, it can be traded into the system for Req. cRs.
- There will be a noticeable amount of teams that exploit the trading to stack individuals with their strengths. Even with the energy requiring mechanism preventing spamming of vehicles and weapons, these team’s strategies will revolve around the “perfect” setups for each map and trading will facilitate this function.
Where it’s true players can earn Req. Points or buy them and therefore gain such advantages anyways, allowing that stacking outright is giving too much “local control” to the player and therefore the chaos of Warzone is removed.
The cards are meant to be layer that everyone, with enough playtime, will earn organically and reasonably quickly because 343i intends to maintain a constant flow of NEW REQUISITION CONTENT. There is definitely going to be a bell curve of quicker and slower earnings of these items but I believe 343i watched how Bungie handled their Crucible and RNG complaints and will strive to prevent as large a group of players feeling unrewarded for their time. No need to have 500hrs of MP time but only 3 Mythic weapons in the locker to show for it.

I totally understand that, and I think it’s a good suggestion. I was just pointing out that it has already been confirmed to be the contrary, so I wouldn’t hold my breath for it happening.

So when do I get my glittery rainbow sniper?..

that would be funny as hell
I could see that becoming annoying very quickly. The forums would be filled with threads like “LF Rare card! Will trade x”.
Card trading would just make the microtransaction market worse. Where you could go from paying 343i for a random pack, to paying some random guy in korea $20 for a single card via paypal who may or may not scam you.
