Alright, I’ll keep this as short and sweet as possible.( after going through my post, I failed miserably at this )
Suggestions
The graphics are good from a visual perspective, but they color scheme desperately needs to be changed regardless because the buildings are not distinct, like telling the difference between a armory and a garage, you get the idea. I have heard it is even worse for Atriox, haven’t even gotten to him yet ( 20/50 games down as cutter ).
The game is very clunky, such as moving from base to base, and trying to move your camera to your units. That needs to be very crisp and fixed up if you are planning on this game to be very enjoyable, otherwise frustration will just set in.
Being able to see the y on each unit groups little card when you click local/all units was a vital to a lot of situations. Should strongly consider bringing that back
Cut out some of the extra mini bases, making it to complicated.
Questions
Why is there no magnetism when selecting units? That was a very key aspect to a console RTS game, while the VERY high level players will be able to adapt a little, you are completely abandoning your more casual player base.
Why is a secondary game mode the first and only option available to play on beta currently? Why would you not release it with Standard ( what appears to be called deathmatch ) right off the bat? someone massively screwed up that I think, because you eliminated the playability of 50% of your units if you are really trying to win in domination.
Why can’t we see the projectiles shooting? That greatly affects high level players micro, if I know one unit is getting shot at by say a tank compared to a marine, that might be some useful information
Bugs
All the disconnect issues are expected you can look at the other 500 posts about those if you want that information.
The Mac blast laser beam does not show up all the time.
If your APM is too high and you are trying to build buildings, sometimes it will bug out and not let build buildings on the corners of the circle menus
Heal circle doesn’t always show up, probably similar issue to the Mac blast laser
I think the game will be good come release date, but there is a ways to go, as expected because this is a Beta, although it kind of feels more like an Alpha. I waited a long as time and had a dream this would come out, after playing years and years of customs in HW1, it finally happened, and I hope the final product is something I can play for another 7 or so years.
