I think players enjoy being rewarded with stats, numbers, medals, etc. Personally, one of the most satisfying moments after a game is seeing a bar move up as I know i made progress. In the case of Halo Infinite, seeing my progress on making kills with (weapon) or capturing a flag X number of times out of X would be gratifying. Thus I would like to suggest that the battlepass can still progress via the challenge xp reward system, but allow for all challenges to provide progression at the same time instead of only 3 at a time. The counterbalance would be that upon completing it the first time, it hits a Tier 2 completion, then 3 then 4 and so on just like how the daily challenges work. Completing the challenges at Tier 1 grant the highest XP and then slowly digress for each completion. At the weekly reset, the challenges could reset back down to Tier 1. This system would allow for players to see how their performance during the gameplay regardless of what equipment they used impacts their battlepass progression. Progression would also be visually showcased at the end of each match. The volume of each challenge’s xp completion should be drastically reduced, however with the fact that all challenges can be completed, there will still be some progress made. Players don’t need to complete the battlepass faster, they just need to be given some credit to progressing the battlepass.
