Wanted to solicit opinions on the best way to get to 152. I started playing MP on July 28, already made it to 61… I know about XP boosts and the featured games and have been dealing with those to help on my quest… but here’s where I’m torn and not sure of the best way to proceed. Originally I was going to bank all my XP boosts and save them for the end of the grind where it’s going to be harder and harder to rank up… but now I’m wondering if I should burn them now and essentially use them as I get them. I have quite a few for arena (which I’m not very good at and have stayed away from)… I have less for warzone and like I said, have collected a decent amount of XP without them and have leveled quite (at least I think) quite well. So what’s everyone’s thoughts? Should I save them for the end of the grind? Or should I use what I have and then start using them as I get them? Thoughts?
Personally, I didn’t start using my boosts regularly until I was level 150. So naturally, I had tons saved up by then to get me through the real grind to 152, because by that point, you’re talking millions of XP between levels. You’re in the early stages where the SR ranks come easy and you don’t really need your boosts. Once you hit the 140s, though, that’s when you’ll really start feeling the grind. So I’d say save them up for now if you’re truly attempting the 152 grind.
And see that’s kind of what I thought as well… I play enough that I can get a level or two a day most days… Yesterday I was able to play most of the day and went from 56 to 61… and I know that’s not the best example of what to expect everyday. I used to play with a goal in mind of how far I want to get over a certain timeframe… I’ve played enough firefight to know more or less what I can average per match… and I was originally thinking of banking them all, but just wasn’t sure if that was the best course of action because if I did use them, then I get could to the higher ranks quicker and then start using them again as I got them… but I think at this point I may stick to the plan of saving them all till I get to the higher high levels when it’s going to take forever to start leveling up… just wanted to see other people’s thoughts and what the best course might be…
I will always say heroic warzone firefight is the best for grinding xp… Low stress, not a lot of reqs required, and games can end quickly especially when you memorize the spawns. Of course the absolute best is warzone assault. However it’s not very fun to play and odds are teams will curb stomp you and you will die A LOT but the xp payout is excellent.
Also while I am not sure if they are still available but odds are they are… You can purchase the legendary xp boost from the Microsoft store for arena or warzone… Now of course I am not recommending you use real money for these (you can if you have deep pockets I suppose)… I am recommending you do like I do and use the Microsoft/bing rewards…there is an app on Xbox and stuff you done online from a computer or smart phone. You take short quizzes, click on stuff, do bing search’s, get game achievements, all kinds of stuff really and earn points. Then you can use the points for Microsoft gift cards and get packs. I could get a pack or two a month usually which did help. Even though I got my 152 awhile back I still do the rewards program regularly to build point and get games and game add ons.

I have been doing roic FF almost exclusively… with the exception of seeing what other games are and what not. I learned about assault luckily right before it dropped last week so I did that exclusively while it was up. I wouldn’t say I’m doing bad. I’m not a great player and started on July 28 and am already at 62… not great, but only working four days a week, hopefully three because of how slow it is, I have a lot of time to grind.
I spend my req point on the appropriate packs at the end of my “shift” and have gotten a few that way. I also have a crap load of various XP for arena games (which I’m absolutely garbage at)… Thought I might just play those games to burn those reqs… I’m not any good at those games and would only play them to get the XP with the reqs… so I might do that…
I saw the banner for microsoft rewards but didn’t know anything about them… guess after this post I might have to look into that and see what kind of damage I can do with that… I still have a lot of stuff to unlock as well so that might not be a bad idea to look into…
Here are some suggestions: FF xp grind
I saw the post and thought it was very similar. Play the featured list, Mythic will help you a lot, but first try to practice in legendary-heroic. Remember if you go for mythic, don’t kill like crazy all bosses, clean the map, if you can (teamwork) for req levels.

It probably is similar… I’ve seen numerous posts about people grinding to 152 and what the best way to it was. I’ve pretty much nailed down how I’m going to “play my grind” if you will… which I’ve seen everyone’s suggestions and taken them to heart. My only question now, and one that was plaguing me for a minute that I haven’t seen a lot of discussion on, was how to best utilize the XP boosts. I’ve wrestled with the thought over the last two weeks or so as I have a bunch and wanted to get other people’s opinions and anecdotes of what they did…

Yep, on that link I share, there is the part that link a post I did time ago. Best xp are the green jackpot ones, there are the others, medal count (purples, use it as it were one IA kills), and the legendary ones. And yes the IA kills, use this boosts in a map you feel you can do it good, they give the xp boost to the first 4 in kills. So the blues, better don’t use that one. Use xp jackpots (they appear more in silver packs), blues are good just because they give you back 150 rp…
The other thing is, you can save like, some 300k rp for buy another 2 legendary packs when they return to the halo 5 store. You can buy them too in the game store, but there u can’t use reqs.
Good Luck!!!
Heroic Firefight is easier and pays out almost the same amount of XP as Legendary Firefight. - Mythic Firefight is a double XP playlist. It’s active from Friday to Monday. You can easily get over 2 million XP in a weekend if you play enough of it. - Playing with a Fireteam helps a lot! Not only does it avoid you getting bored but it also means you should get through matches easier. - Warzone Assault can be an amazing source of XP if you can get a team. Matches can be as short as 5 minutes and get over 10K XP. - Use vehicles in Firefight, being on foot is just a lot less firepower at your disposal. - Use your boosts all the time! It makes such a big difference. - Generally Arena gives you significantly LESS XP than Firefight. The only exception is Rock & Rail, you can complete matches very quickly for decent XP. - Double XP playlists (the ones with a gold star next to them) only give double XP for the base XP for a match. This means your XP boosts ARE NOT affected by Double XP. - Set milestones. 50 Million XP is a huge number to tackle. Take it down into chunks. I set myself a target of 300K XP a day. HaloTracker.com is an excellent website for finding out how much XP you need to get 152. - Have fun! The road to 152 is a long one. Enjoy your time playing and don’t burn yourself out.
I’m at 108. I did the math and from 107 I would have to do 4,634 legendary firefight matches if I got exactly 10k xp from each. I would have to do roughly 13 matches a day for 365 days to get that. Or roughly 5 1/2 hours a day playing legendary firefight.

Could be wrong… but I think I tried it once… no boosts or anything and it was only marginally more xp than roic FF… so that’s what I’m sticking to and saving my boosts for the higher ranks when it gets really tough… I’m also doing the featured playlists (right now is slayer w/ H2 BR)… and I’m burning those boosts because I won’t ever come back to them unless they’re featured… and it’s working out fairly well thus far. I’m avg. about 5k a match (and that’s even losses)… so any xp is good xp

Regardless, my point was, it takes an insane amount of exp and time to make it. Starting the grind now would be pretty much hopeless.

Well thanks… the cynicism was extremely helpful!! I work four days a week, and on those other three days I have nothing else to do. I got jaded with the other players left still playing reach… I was looking for something new and refreshing and came back to 5… I’m sorry I’m semi fresh to this. I’m sorry I don’t know everything there is to know about H5 yet… Anyway… thanks for the negative nancy cynicism… and the non constructive help… I’m going to go back to grinding and looking for some actual constructive help…

No need to get hurt feelings over this. I gave you a rough idea about how much work you will need to put in in order to reach your goal.
I started playing Halo 5 roughly less than 3 months ago I am now at rank 109 and I use my boosts as I get them play mostly FFA SWAT and Team Slayer. I also work full time.

I think you can do it with less games. Even if you just play legendary, the xp jackpots can give you more than 10k/match, and last year they gave double xp for about the two last weeks of the year, so maybe it can help you.

Well yes there are variables. I only included the average xp I get from each game as the jackpot and 2x arent consistent variables.
