Suggestions for WZFF revive mechanic changes.

Been playing a lot of Firefight lately and formulated some changes to the revive systems that might make it better for players. Main idea is to have spartans whose health becomes depleted to fall to a down but not out stage where they are able to be revived by a teammates if possible (such as in the campaign). The amount of time that the player has in the down but not out stage could function similarly to current situations in that the duration could be different depending on the round or difficulty. Another idea I had that is more of a convenience thing would be to immediately get revived at the end of a round. I have noticed that if you are killed at the end of the round, sometimes the revive cooldown cuts into intermission which can be annoying. One last thing that I think FF could benefit from greatly would be chooseable spawnpoints around the map as the long cooldowns after death already take a lot of time in later rounds and time is further cut into if you have to run across the map to get into the action. Criticism or additional ideas would be awesome, thanks.

Good ideas, but probably more for Infinite at this point.

Yeah that’s probably the case at this point, I am not sure if a FF-like mode is coming back for Infinite but based on what I have heard, it seems like it would fit in well with the rest of the game.

I agree and spawn times should be less. Especially in round 5 where the mythic boss is strong af and has helpers. If half ur team is still loading and it’s getting to the crunch time, it basically points to a loss which sucks.
Along with how boss kilss are determined too. I hate lighting up a boss and doing the most damage, whether I killed at the end or am at a bad angle for a scorpion shot and I don’t get the credit for it really annoys me. This sucks when you are trying for commendations. Also I believe some of the REQs should be lowered for load outs at least. cough DMR cough

Yeah I agree about the commendation thing, I have been hunting for my last enemy commendation (grunt mech) and it has been kind of painful with not getting any comm credit even though I might have done the most damage. I have kind of perfected the art of destroying the mech and sniping the grunt though, I got 10 grunt mech kills just yesterday mainly using this method, still have around 9 left. Also agree with the DMR, feels like by the time I have any good DMR’s unlocked, I have already moved on to power weapons and vehicles for bosses.

Spawning any ground vehicle in apex and you’re going to spend a minute watching the palm tress go by.

I don’t get the reference lol.

I could do an essay on all the ff mistakes, bugs, glitches… and how to improve them. I have a little over 5,000 games in that mode, including some records of quick games and scores. But I won’t unless it’s useful to developers. So if you have luck and some take your msg I can help. I know a lot of good ff players, but is always the same, nobody put atention in the mistakes of H5 ff.

Think he’s referring to the long drive you to do to get anywhere on the map haha. It’s always fun spawning a scorpion on the opposite side of the map

Yep. To make it more “challenging” the game almost always picks the worst possible place to spawn a vehicle. It’s especially bad if its a tank: You either (A) get spawned on the opposite side of the map and the round’s over by the time you get to the front, or (B) it spawns you where the hunters/wardens/goblins currently are and you get shot to hell AS YOU’RE SPAWNING and so are in flames by the time you can move and blow up seconds later.

Yea that really ticks me off and I’m like why make it like this lol.

Apex is my least favourite map. I sigh in exasperation whenever I see the map.

I guess they figured that if you could spawn in the vehicle and it’d put you at the optimal location every time you’d just speedrun every round. That’s the problem with the Warzone Firefight really, but it’s really bad on Apex.

Are you telling me that you don’t enjoy that “Defend the Armory” round 1 objective that places you on the beach and has you watch the armory’s capture timer go down before you even arrive on the scene??

Me neither :stuck_out_tongue:
(To be fair, grabbing a mongoose and rushing it with another guy helps loads, but even still that round’s a PAIN for a first-round thing…)

Yeah that’s why I wish we could see what the round objective is during intermission, then people could actually prepare for the round rather than scramble while enemies are spawning all around.

On Apex if you are alive and at a req station, use the second floor station at the spire to get a spawn out of the garage at the beach where you are first dropped off. That will get you to the action a lot faster for some of the rounds. I believe all other req stations send you out of the other garage.

This would be the such an amazing help! Especially for defending forerunner cores and defending armories considering enemies, especially prometheans, spawn IN OR ON TOP of the objective!

dont forget round 2 which has the protect the generators on the opposite side of the map by the water with crawlers that spawn next to them! lol

You know what would be a great feature? If the respawn timer was reduced to zero you were killed by a teammates vehicle. Losing survival bonus plus up to a minute of active time because of another players actions is horrendous. The amount of punishment that an unskilled or anti social player can dish out on others is so far out of whack. In an ideal world I would have it so the teamkilling player lost points or even got a reduced xp/rp payout. Instead they net zero and the victim just loses

it could have been disabled shields instead of instant death. that at least gives you a chance to recover instead of waiting 30+ seconds to respawn

having shields drained is fatal in most cases, I have another thread on here commenting on a guy that did that to me just bumped me, dropping my shields, while i was in combat already and that caused me to die. I then lost my survival bonus, had to wait out the timer then had to run from the opposite end of the map.

I’d rather it be a simple instant res and perhaps avoid the loss of survival bonus.
