Hi my names Johnny and I’ve played and loved Halo since the 1st halo. I’ve spent days on halo and have experienced times of great joy and great frustration with the game. Part of the frustration is unchangeable and is part of trying hard and coming up short, but lately one of my biggest frustrations is one that can be changed if 343 would take this playlist suggestion into consideration.
First Im going to explain how I view the current playlist problem which has to do with the radar. Radar, in theory, helps the novice gamer to have a chance to be on a more level playing field with the more experienced gamer. At the same time it rewards what many call “campers” or players who wait behind corners not moving or crouched who will try to ambush unsuspecting opponents. Now this might seem like a trivial matter but I don’t think it is. By having radar much of the strategy that makes halo such an enjoyable game is taken out. Players are rewarded for simply gaining the lead and hiding out in a location until the enemy attacks them which makes it extremely difficult for the enemy to be competitive since most times players who camp are holding the power weapons and can easily dispose of any attackers. Rather than putting novice players on a more level playing field with experienced players, radar compounds the problem. Currently in Halo Reach there is only a couple playlists that I know of without radar and many other playlists would be far more enjoyable and competitive if they had no radar.
I understand that there are many gamers out there who like radar and prefer it and of course the more gamers contributing revenue to the company the more profit which is another reason why I think that all playlists in Halo 4 with radar should be complimented with the same playlists minus radar. Not only will more people play Halo, but it will be more enjoyable for those of us who strongly dislike radar. I think I can say with some certainty that I’m not the only one who feels this way.
