So I’ve been thinking about listing suggestions for the game devs and decision makers to see, even though I know that most likely they won’t ever see it.
At this point I have no anger or even disappointment with the game. I suppose I’ve reached the acceptance part of my grieving over Infinite as it exists. This is my catharsis. ![]()
It is what it is. A missed opportunity. A confusing one at that, because I’ve been told many times that 343 made these decisions based on maximizing profit. However if that was the goal, then their incompetence is truly amazing. Truly.
This is simply a list of suggestions I think would be a good idea to implement in a friendly post, in which I encourage others to add to as they please. I would only encourage people to list ideas that would be in the company’s best interest.
For example, “I want all colors and options to be free!” Isn’t a great example. While that might make casual players happy, it doesn’t help 343 make revenue. They are a business that does what they do to make money. Suggestions like these might be best in a different thread.
A better example would be; “They should do more promotions that tie into the Halo tv series to get more interest in both properties.” That way they generate more revenue from both.
In this way I feel that suggestions can be limited to ideas that the company wouldn’t be completely against, and it might keep some of the more unrealistic ideas from getting posted over and over.
Here’s a few of mine
- Redesign the store front
I am unsure of how it helps the company to deny people the ability to buy what they want. I am legitimately stumped. I have a list of some odd 10 items I would like to purchase that I missed out on from season 1. That’s free money that I am trying to throw at 343i for items that are already there. I just missed out on them when they went on sale.
We should be able to buy all items released to date, like any other game.
When I go into my custom menu I should be able to go to an item, select it and purchase it. How does seeing an item I want…that’s already been released—that I am willing to pay for!— say “Vaulted” help the company? How does it make us as players content with the product? It doesn’t.
- A steady stream of content
Much like any other outfit I think it would benefit the company to outsource the creation of content to various other contractors to ensure they amount of content be copious and keep people checking on the store. Hand out dev kits to those willing to make content and come to an agreement financially.
In this way 343i doesn’t need to concern themselves with the content aspect of the game, and they still make money. They can even implement aesthetic limits on whatever they want designed for the game. Set boundaries with contractors. Open up the possibilities.
(I thought it was a real missed opportunity when they sold that strap with the pineapple grenades. I think that the players actual frag grenades should have appeared as pineapple grenades in game. People would love that! That would have sold like crazy. Think about the possibilities, cherry bomb grenades, water ballon grenades. Lots of money left on the table.)
- Maximize customization of armor
Again these suggestions are to both make us as players happy with the options and to make revenue for 343i. As has been suggested by others , having the ability to color any specific part of your armor a particular shade would add to the customization of the individual player. If they wanted to sell a “kit” to allow that to happen, many people would buy such a kit.
I personally would love to have the option for armor wear appearance. For example, if I buy an armor coat I think it would be neat to have an armored effect that can either make the armor color matte (worn) or give it a high gloss (brand new) or splattered in dirt and maybe even blood (combat used). Again all these suggestions are for items to be sold in the store.
- Selling reward items in the store
So I missed out on a few items that were promotional. Like the Bumble Bee emblem from like week 1 or something? Things like that could be put in the store and people like me would be willing to pay for it. The people that earned it shouldn’t mind as they got it for free. If they do then a re-color of those items could be sold so that they can differentiate between bought and earned? I don’t know I’m just throwing out ideas here.
I have a ton more but some of my ideas could be implemented in a week with no downside except selling more stuff in the store.
