Suggestion to Improve Spartan customization UI.

I have an idea to greatly improve the Halo 5 UI for Spartan customization.

  • Merge Helmet & Armor sections into one. - Make this new list in 2x2, with helmets on the top row, and their matching armor piece below it. Still going left to right. - Organize this new list in the same way REQs are. By alphabetical AND rarity. NOT in what you’ve recently unlocked. - Add a button to favorite armor and helmets. Then have an option to press ‘Y’ to see only your Favorites in their own menu. - Organize Emblems and Visors into alphabetical and rarity also. - (suggested by Oowoon) Put all armor variants of a singular set into a submenu to cut down on space. (Thanks again to Oowoon)With this new UI change, it may be hard to find your newly unlocked items. The solution to that is to add a yellow triangle indicator of a new item. (Like the one in Warzone of your equipped weapon)

I really hope you see this 343i and take it into consideration. I’m a huge Halo fan, and only wish to see it grow and improve. I believe that this system here can be a huge improvement over what’s currently in Halo 5.

Yes, this sounds awesome! A UI change like this would definitely make customization a little less of a hassle.

Speed up scrolling through it too maybe. When you reach over 70% completeion it takes a full 30 seconds to go from one end of the list to the other.

Good idea.

Putting all armor skin variants of a singular set into a sort of submenu might make this more livable, kind of like with how Reach did it with attachments.

It’s just getting tedious to scroll through at this point.

Like said before, this is great, and speed up scrolling. Maybe left/right with D pad goes faster than regular, and up/down go to the first or last column in your view, respectively.

Would go against the REQ system unclocks and stuff, 343i are silly anyway :3

How would it go against the REQ system?

I definitely like idea number 4 for your favorite armor sets because that would also reduce the time it takes to change armors which would be great cause sometimes I like to switch in between games

also I think that being able to have the armor order be picked by you would be even better like if you want it by recent or by rarity

That is a good point. Maybe have a button to cycle between recent and rarity. That way whether you’re viewing all items or just your favorites, you can organize them either way.

Or like how Halo 4 did it with there just being a list that you can scroll down through.

anything would help. This current format is terrible.

But that would just have the same problem. Instead of holding right, you’d have to hold down.

Why added more customization! I want Mark V Shoulders with venator armor!!!

Split armor pieces apart for more customization. Req systerm would still work the same, you unlock all armor pieces as a set. But, you could apply different pieces.

I’m not going into customization here guys, that’s a topic for another day and game (I personally cannot see 343 overhauling the armor and REQ system). I’m just talking about the way the UI is set up and making it more ergonomic and functional.

I think my topic is dead.

Interesting

If you guys could share this around, that’d be great. It’s been dead for a couple months now, and the UI in Halo 5 hasn’t changed at all. Thanks.
