I have a suggestion for Last Spartan Standing that I think could “fix” the game mode.
Currently, the Most Effective Tactic Available is to wait for fights to break out, and kill the winner, who typically doesn’t have shields, and haven’t reloaded their weapons. I personally find this tactic un-fun and against the fast-paced nature of play in games like Halo, and I’ve noticed that others feel similarly about the game mode.
My suggestion is that, every time you level up, your shields instantly recharge, and maybe get 1/2 overshield.
If implemented, I think that this suggestion would help players that are at a health disadvantage after winning a fight. I believe this would discourage camping and encourage faster-paced play, since winning fights would give you an advantage against those players who camp out instead of engaging in fights.
This addition would also make the act of deciding when to level up more strategic. You could “bank” a level up to use during a fight to instantly get your shields back, reload one of your weapons, and get a new weapon as well. Personally, I level up as soon as I can, instead of waiting for the right moment when I would benefit from a reload and weapon upgrade, so this change would make the decision of when to level up more impactful as well.

If they made level up automatic, then I’d say this could work but with you currently being able to choose when to level up… no.
People would save their level up for when they’re losing a fight and boom, instant shields.

FFA games are all about third partying so I’m against the idea. Leave the victor for the wolves.
Pick your fights appropriately. There are some great spots to fight without giving up major sightlines.
I think the zone should come in quicker when there are only two people left.
Nah of you aren’t getting any progress, close the whole game down and restart it back up.
Progress counts when the game ends not when you leave. So if you leave early, then play another game or make a brew then when you get back the challenges will progress.
Make the danger zone timer based if it isn’t currently and speed that sumbich up.

I’m diggin’ Last Spartan Standing, it’s new and fresh, a mini take on a full BR maybe…I like it.
Currently I’m mostly getting jumped from behind during quick fights just as @Smumbo mentioned in the original post. Getting shot from behind in most battles gets to be frustrating and then straight to boring. We’ve got to give the fighters a little more time and/or give the winner of the fight more time to recover AND make a move for the next fight…I do like the idea of gaining full health and shields back when leveling up.
What if instead, we had slightly larger maps which would buy us time “OR” how about more tunnels/buildings, walls, rooms, downed crafts or anything to give more cover…more cover would make more intimate battles.
Also we need more ways to traverse the map, how about some of those lifts that took you straight up or a couple of teleports or something…maybe instead of OS and Camo, not a fan of those 2 items in this game…we instead have other items for the traverse effect like more Grapples, Thrusters and Repulsors!
The only other thing is when you spawn in the storm. By the time you run back to the last circle, the enemy can hear you and is aware of where you’re coming from PLUS you’ve already lost half your life!
To fix this, you could buff the storm…I think it’s very deadly “AND/OR” how bout giving the spawning player a timer, maybe like 10 seconds on the screen to move through the storm without taking damage to get in a good position to enter the circle and have a chance.
