I think the majority of people would welcome a feature like this. Is there any chance 343i could implement something similar into the MCC possibly in a way that it could also run well on older rigs without lag/stutter? (In case someone didn’t like it maybe there could be a toggle for it in the settings that could revert it back to the current menu/ui used by MCC)

These are the legacy backgrounds, the ones Bungie made when the games were released the first time.
Having them implemented like this with the fitting soundtracks adds a lot the UI, especially for the fans who remember those moving/animated backgrounds.
Not saying the current backgrounds are bad, but imo this could work a lot better.

I think this is a great idea and hope for it to be a toggleable setting in MCC.
Nothing can beat the original CE menu for the ambience and mystery it conveyed off the bat.
Could potentially achieve the same thing with landscape shots
