Suggestion for Addressing Ranked Matches with Leavers

I’m not sure about everyone else but I have lately been running into issues with players leaving in the middle of a Ranked Arena match. This isn’t just happening on my team, but on the enemy team as well. Losing a teammate almost always guarantees a loss and most people just want to move on to the next game instead of getting farmed for 7 minutes.

A voting system to decide if the team who lost their player(s) wants to end the match early should be put in place to allow players to get past the ruined match and back into a normal lobby sooner rather than later.

I don’t know if this is already a thing in place or not, but any Ranked Arena match that loses a player before a certain point in the match (i.e., before the halfway point for time or for score) shouldn’t count against your ranked rating as well.

Interesting idea. I’d like to see something this added.

This is a good thing and I do support it, a cast to vote to forfeit the match if it’s obviously not winnable, to were the team votes to continue or not.

No… Rank should not disregard anything just because a person left. People would abuse it if allowed. You either try to keep pushing forward or you accept your loss. Maybe hope the guy who left was disconnected and can reconnect fast enough to make a come back perhaps.

In my experience at least, once you disconnect it doesn’t let you come back. Don’t know if I just can’t reconnect fast enough or it isn’t an option at all.

I understand the worry for abuse, which is why I suggest it only allow it for a limited time. Maybe halfway point is a little too lenient, it could reasonably be made shorter too. If a player keeps repeatedly leaving games when they’re losing they’ll get hit with a ban anyways, and to keep groups of 4 from abusing it when the team is losing I imagine 343 could implement it in a way that it only disregards rating if the leaver is someone not in your fireteam.
