Listen to your fans please, there are many of us basically begging for this to be added since Halo 4. We want playable elites and we have been asking for a while, please take us into a new era of Halo and give the fans everything we are asking for that you are capable of doing.
I had a daydream that Elites were in the multiplayer game, in some sort of trailer. I wish my dreams were visions of the future but alas.
This is speculation so it could be 100% wrong but I believe there is 2 reasons playable elites haven’t returned.

Halo 4/5 elites haven’t been playable because the newer elites have much bigger models than the elites in the original trilogy which means the hit boxes can’t be the exact same as Spartans and would make them unbalanced and frustrating to play as. Lucky the classic art style is returning and fixes the newer model’s problem. Though H2A MP had playable elites with the newer design.

With the addition of Spartan abilites elites would have to have many more animations which cost time and money. Not only that but it wouldn’t make sense in the lore aspect of the game (Spartan abilities are for Spartans) Reach call them just abilities which made it ok for elites to have them but even then some of the animations looked more clean and refined for Spartans rather than elites. An example of this is sprint and how elites don’t actually run but just walk faster.
I really hope they return because they do play a big part in halo and have been a long requested outcry from the community

If this is true, shame on the developers. The elites didn’t need changing or at least not on that scale.

I can’t get behind this. If they had time and money to design Spartans, they could’ve easily invested equal time and money to design proper Elite ones. We’re not talking about an Indie developer; this is a studio that is driven by one of the largest technology companies in the world (Microsoft) so their budget is certainly elastic enough to accommodate it.
I think most of us can agree H5 doesn’t need the amount of armor variants it currently has. Halo 5 could’ve had half the Spartan armor variants with the other half comprised of Covenant armor variants with virtually no additional time or resources spent. I personally think it is just one of many changes that was intended to take Halo in a new direction. Also, the story didn’t feature as much Covenant as the Bungie games, so it wouldn’t make as much sense to have them.
Agreed. Please allow Elites to be playable in the MP, with customizable armor
I agree, and i dont play as an eleite, but i miss them all the same. People should be able to be an eleite, and customize them.
