Seeing that Infinite has been in development for quite some time now, I am hoping they dont make the huge mistake of not having the Day 1 features that we need. Things such as a:
Working Theater Mode - You hear people suggesting this for older titles but 343 keeps going to the suggestion of the xbox built in DVR. This is very helpful, but not ideal for content creation. Halo content on youtube is a huge way people discover the game. Its essentially free advertisement. A theater mode like we saw in Halo 3, Reach, and or Halo 4 is what I would want. The ability to invite people to watch film together, and save films. Theres no excuse for not including it. I can go back and see gameplay in theater from people in 2007 etc. This feature needs to not be overlooked and brushed off.
Multiple Ranked playlists - Halos recently have launched with a small amount of ranked playlists. Halo is full of diverse players across all game modes. I would like to see many ranked playlists such as HCS, Slayer, Team Doubles, Team Snipers, Swat, and FFA. There should also always be that rotational ranked playlist like Big Team Battle, etc.
These are just the 2 ones I can think of for now. There are some others but those are more complicated as far as rank matching, maps, etc. What else do you guys think there should be in Infinite DAY 1. Not a week after launch, not 2 weeks. Release day.

Yes! I hate the same layout maps with just different assests. And in most cases they even look the same. I understand a lot went wrong with halo 5, but it’s lazy developing and hinders new experiences.
Theater. And not just for multiplayer, but for everything. Halo 3 and Reach had theater for campaign as well. But they decided to remove it in Halo 4. And I don’t think it was there in Halo 5 as well. Not sure why.
Campaign Scoring. Again. A feature which was introduced in Halo 3. It was there in Reach. But they removed it in Halo 4 for some reason, and never added it. They introduced it again in MCC so I hoped it would make a return in Halo 5 as well. Well it did, in the form of Score Attack, but it wasn’t there on Day 1.
Give Big Team Battle proper love. We all know 343i neglected BTB in Halo 5 with no developer made maps(only Forge made maps) and not even having it available on Day 1. Dear 343i, Warzone is NOT a successor to BTB!! And will never be.
Forge on Day 1. Forge was delayed by a month or two. Although I have heard it’s the best Forge yet, but there’s still no excuse to have something delayed which has been available in previous games Day 1.
Proper playlists Day 1. Both Ranked and Social.
The game should have these sort of playlists:-
Ranked:-
Slayer, Team Arena(Competitive Playlist), Snipers, Doubles, Swat, Free For All, Head to Head, Breakout(If it returns that is. And please don’t put Extermination with it).
Social:-
Quick Play(More maps please. Not just 3), Big Team Battle(DON’T make it Ranked), Super Fiesta, Action Sack, Grifball, Infection.
There are some other playlists as well which need to be there Day 1, but I am not sure where they would fit, Ranked or Social.
Multi Team(Most likely social?)
An objective ONLY playlist which does NOT include Team Arena/Competitive/HCS settings. Core Play was that I guess?
For the playlists, these were just the bacic stuff. I am sure we are going to get new game modes in Infinite, as well as a return of some old favourites maybe? Invasion and Dominion come to my mind. But based on previous games, this is pretty good. Unless I am missing some major playlist here.
For the Social stuff, we can have a match composer instead of regular Social playlists maybe? Similar to what we have in MCC.
As for Warzone, it can return. But definitely not in THIS form. And I don’t understand. Why can’t we use Warzone maps(variants if individual map is too big) for BTB? Or use those maps for Customs or Forge? I don’t see a problem with that.
Firefight. Not talking about Warzone Firefight here. The good old regular Firefight. It needs to return. Day 1. And have that survival feeling to it. Because that is what it is, a SURVIVAL mode.
Warzone Firefight can return as well, if the actual Warzone returns that is. But it should NOT replace the regular Firefight.
There’s so much more I want to add here. But I’ll leave it at this for the time being. I’ll make a proper thread soon maybe about what things I want.

I don’t want BTB playlist coming out a month later or doubles three months later or more after that. I don’t want to see Key features like forge or customs browser or LAN coming out months or even years after launch and so forth. I also want the game to the relatively bug free. I don’t expect they’re not to be any bugs at all but they should be very minor.
The only thing that should be coming out after launch semi regularly are new developer made maps and game patches. Later on, at least 6 months after launch, potentially some type of campaign DLC or/and some brand new game mode (like how grifball was back in the day) for us to try and maybe a weapon tuning update or something.

This guy gets it. BTB needs some serious love, and I really hope they learned their lesson after the terrible launch of H5.

Yup. In my mind BTB has always been the backbone of Halo and something that always made me come back to games like Halo 3 and Reach. Large-scale battles with vehicular mayhem and power weapons spawning left and right is what Halo is all about. Halo 5 introduced great gameplay buy didn’t execute on map design. If we can get some more classic BTB maps and return to the experience that we all know and love, Infinite will do great.
Kinda hoping that day one we get the old Multiplayer feel a lot of people loved back in the day. I don’t understand the concept of rotating playlists, it seems stupid to me. You have people who want to come home from work or school and all they want to do is sit down to play some Infection or Team Snipers, but oh wait, sorry, can’t do that, it’s not on the rotation right now. I get that it makes little sense to have empty playlists (or at least low pop playlists) taking up space on the Multiplayer board, but it was always great being able to pick what you wanted to play rather than what was just available.
A lot of other things might just be there like Forge and hopefully Theater (maybe RoosterTeeth can bring back fails of the week then :D), but I’m sure there’s a lot of things that would be great to just have on the first day.
Campaign
Fully functioning campaign with all four Halo difficulties, local co-op and skulls. It should be at least four hours long on Normal difficulty as a minimum. Longer would be preferred.
Custom Games
A minimum of ten maps upon release. At least four maps should support Big Team Battle.
At least eight classic gametypes on release. New gametypes don’t count - They are a bonus.
More maps and gametypes should be added via DLC, but these are the minimum inclusions for release.
Local splitscreen of up to four players and system-link (LAN) of at least sixteen should be included.
Online browser
The ability to play without being connected to the internet
Matchmaking
Both Slayer (Arena) and Team Slayer gametypes as well as at least four other objective-based playlists. (SWAT doesn’t count). As long as the Customer Games ^ minimums are applied then Matchmaking should automatically work. There should be both social and competitive playlists from the start.
Forge
All the features that Halo 5 includes today, but with more intuitive classic-Forge-inspired control schemes and preferably some innovations.
Theatre
Allows both screenshots and videos for both campaign and multiplayer matches.
Everything mentioned here is a minimum. As a new Halo title, it should include new features on top of the ones listed.

I think their primary obligation if they’d like to impress everyone is to release the game in a playable state to the degree that offline players have a fair variety of modes to keep themselves occupied (from the PvE perspective) such as the polished campaign, a Firefight mode, and at least a serviceable and usable beginning of a Forge mode. As far as online goes, it just needs to work. It doesn’t have to be some colossal monument to the prime of Halo’s MP (it can’t be this until it’s received player input and been in the wild for a while anyways), it just needs to be a solid foundation.
In short, I’ll be annoyed to no end if they need to put a day one patch of any substantial size in this game. If they have to delay the thing to release a game that isn’t broken at launch, I’d personally much rather see them do that than to subject us all to another industry-wide joke of a release.

I hear that. I have read people criticising this aspect a number of times now. Let’s hope we’re being heard.
This is rather a “don’t” but I wasn’t a fan of items that were only available for a limited amount of time, for example in Halo 5 you were supposed to get some REQs by logging into the app and watching some clips but that doesn’t seem to work anymore.
Also: Social Arena for solo players only (smurf-fireteams are a huge pain) and restrictions to one account per player in general would be nice (smurf problem) but I don’t know if that is possible as an in-game feature.
Working Forge for those who like to play around in forge/make custom maps - Co-Op campaign…but most importantly the ability to play Halo Infinite with split-screen option - If Microtransactions make a comeback(more than likely because seems all game companies are doing it these days. They never bothered me personally but to each their own opinions on them), make them an annual cosmetic-themed microtransaction, and none of the “pay to win” REQ pack look-alike from Halo 5. - Last one I can think of, the player lobby ability to vote on which map you get to play next in the current playlist you’re currently in.
