Currently i’m running:
DMR (no brainer, really)
boltshot (i’m not that into pistols but i still need the points to try the plasma
frags (tried plasmas didn’t liked them)
active camo (i think i should change this because i feel it’s useless beside camping, need advice)
dexterity (seem to be good to reload before your opponent does)
obviously i’m fresh to halo series so this silly request

works well, hologram tricks so many people its silly and switching from dmr to br when u run out of ammo is nice and quicker than reloading.
If your looking to try out a new AA I highly suggest using Hologram. In Reach it was arguably one of the worst AA’s however now I consider it to be among the best, people fall for it all the time and that extra shot or two that the Hologram will give you is invaluable in any ranged duel.
This is what I run on BTB.
DMR
Plasma pistol
Plasma grenades
Pro.Vision
Grenadier
Ammo
This setup really allows me to pick off stray enemies but also help teamates by PP enemu vehicles or even just shooting a banshee with the dmr.
If your running with an active camo you might want the one where it speeds up the AA’s recharge rate.

To be honest, I don’t think the DMR is better than the BR, or the Light rifle. I’m probably the only one who will ever tell you that. But anyways, assuming that you are not playing big team battle or Dominion, Here’s what I would suggest.
-BR for most maps; DMR for Complex, Ragnarok, (Big maps)
-Pistol, or Boltshot if you want to piss people off with your free close range kills. Also use Plasma pistol for BTB games (for taking down vehicles.)
-Frags for most gametypes; Pulse grenades for KotH and oddball (to block off areas and force people out of the hill.) Plasma grenades if you are 5 years old and like to charge people for the stick, knowing that you are most likely going to die. (wouldn’t recommend it)
-I would almost always suggest using Jetpack for getting to objectives faster, but if you are playing slayer, I would recommend promethean vision or hardlight shield for BTB. I honestly think Camo serves no purpose in this game, same goes for Thruster Pack.
-I’m always changing my support upgrades and tactical packages. Usually I have the one that gives you an extra grenade, so I can use those Pulse Grenades in King of the HIll.
