But with the problems with the master chief collection and the cod like halo 4 people may be turned off.

People need to realize that
1: Halo 5 does not play like COD. It may seem that way when you watch someone play the beta, but if you’d played the beta then you’d realize how wrong that assumption is.
2: The Master Chief Collection was outsourced. A number of companies other than 343 made the collection, and an entirely different team is making Halo 5.
It’s also worth mentioning that, as of now, Halo 5 has 200,000+ pre-orders.
Will it be a financial success? Absolutely. (Because the word “Halo” is on the cover of the game)
Other than that, we’ll just have have to wait and see.

It’s going to be a critical success. Graphics are great, music is great (from the samples I’ve heard), the animations, the plot (from what we know so far).

While i know both of those things i have a feeling the general public thinks 343 made the mcc and we all know it had a very bad launch. Halo 5 will have dedicated servers though. Halo 4 had more preorders.

Beta was only 720p 60fps. I hope they can manage to make the game 1080p 60fps since halo is xbox “killer franchise”. Where have you heard the music I would love to hear it.
I hope so. It does have over 200k copies on preorder. How ever the question is did 343 learn anything from H4, weakest lamest rank system and to many CODish features, not to mention releasing a game in a broken state like MCC. But let’s say H5 launches without a hitch they still are going to have some tough competition as Star Wars Battlefront looks yoinking AWESOME and COD black ops 3 both come out in November.

Right now, I honestly could not care any less about 1080p/720p and 60fps/30fps. I just want another new Halo game that plays similarly to H2 and H3, and works.

the more fps the easier it is to be precise.

Halo 4 being like Call of Duty is news to me…

Halo 4 has sold over nine million copies, with 1.8 million pre-orders.
This month of 2012, Halo 4 had almost 400k Pre-Orders..
Food for thought.

The figure of 200,000+ pre-orders is as of April 11th 2015, you’re comparing it with the 3rd of June (week of E3 2012)
Wait for VGchartz to finally update after E3 & then compare Halo5 to Halo4 June pre-orders.
If you compare 7th-April-2012 to 11th-April-2015 it looks like this:
Halo4 - 268,077
Halo5 - 227,962Which, although it is trailing, isn’t actually that far behind considering the MCC debacle, and that Xbox One has just over 10m install base compared to over 60m Xbox 360’s at the time of Halo 4’s release.
This depends on your definition of success. Will it be a financial success for microsoft? Yes. Without a doubt. Will it be a successful game (good launch, not broken, and actual good game)? Who knows. At this point, it could go either way.
It will not be a success at launch, everybody is being a bit more eerie with the double fail of Halo 4 and MCC. If the majority of companies rank it really good. And I mean really good, then it is likely people will buy it after launch and eventually get all it’s launch money.
Depends by your definition of success. In terms of sales, yeah it will sell great.
But in terms of maintaining a healthy population, not to sure. That is all up to 343. Will the game work at launch? Will the game be fun? Will it have constant support? Only time will tell.
Really depends what kind of success you mean. It’s probably going to sell more than any of the other games on Xbox One. However, how long it will last is a different discussion. I’ll be playing long after launch, but as for the rest of the community, I can’t really tell. Maybe this whole “We hate 343 for something we can’t quite put our finger on” charade will end. Maybe it won’t. I’ll have fun either way.

Came to say exactly this. From a financial standpoint, Halo 5 will without a doubt be successful and sell tons of copies. Whether or not everyone that buys those copies will continue to play months or even years down the line is yet to be seen and is much harder to predict.

Agreed. Either way I know I’m going to have a blast on this game. Just have to find a way to balance how much I play H5 with Fallout 4. It’s gonna be a difficult time!
