In Breakout, my team was getting angry due to a BR hog on Altitude. So, we tried boosting in front of him which resulted in him throwing grenades at my friends and almost killing them. While I was in the back, I saw an chance to kill him before he opened fire on them, so I did. In the next round, same thing happened, and I got the kill on him again and he booted me from the game. I thought this was complete -Yoink-, so I tried to invite my friends back to a game and you’ll never guess what happened next. I was banned from multiplayer. This made me so angry so I decided to post about it. Me and my team reported him multiple times and we’re hoping he gets a temporary ban. Here’s his gamertag, if you wanna send him an angry message or something- [REDACTED] (the lines surrounding the 9 and the 3 are L’s)
While you may have done the right thing morally, you did purposely kill a teammate twice which is just cause for removal from the game.
Just so we’re clear, I support your actions.
Welcome to Halo 5. I randomly was added to a current progress of Stronghold, picked up a AR and begun to pop a few heads…when out of nowhere fellow team player beside me melee me, just so he could get the AR… later driving a warhog same guy wants to drive…throws sticky. Never gave me the option to boot him -_-
So yeah…team killing is going to happen and you will either have justice on your side or get nothing.
People like that are jerks. The best thing you can do is report them after game - attempting to stop them ingame makes you, in the eyes of the banhammer, just the same as them. I’m not saying that you were wrong to kill him, but there are just better ways to go about it.
Was doing a BTB Capture the Flag with random players earlier. My team was doing quite well up 2 to 0. I grabbed the flag and walked it back to base with no attempt by the enemies to stop me, joking around with my teammates, who came one by one to join me on my stroll, about where the heck they were. Just as I reached the threshold of the base, one of my escorts Spartan charged me out of nowhere. I survived and was like “wtf?” I figured it was accident until he did it again, killing me and grabbing the flag so he could score the return. Then my whole team of random people, who were there watching it happen, were like “wtf?” and the team killer died in a hail of bullets and didn’t get the cap he wanted so desperately.
What a complete and total loser. I wish I had memorized his tag
If someone betrays me I get them to do it multiple times until I get them booted, it’s a better strategy than killing them because it won’t get you booted.
While he was being a -Yoink- and I don’t blame you for killing him, the game doesn’t care that he was being a BR hog or threw grenades at his teammates. What it does care about is you killing your teammates frequently and so the ban hammer struck. I’d recommend you just drain his shields instead of killing him. I also wish friendly deaths didn’t count in slayer variants or that friendly fire was just turned off so that crap doesn’t happen. And I’m pretty sure you’re not allowed to say gamertags on the forums so you may want to change that.
So you tried to get a guy who hogs the BR the whole time to team kill you. ARE YOU FREAKEN INSANE?!? If he hogs it then thats fine. He got there first fair and square.
I thought the game just automatically kicks you for two team kills. That happened to me yesterday when I accidentally double-splattered a couple teammates in a ghost on warzone. The kick was nearly instantaneous, too fast for them to have made some sort of decision about it. I’ve also been betrayed before and never got a prompt to choose what to do with the offending player.

No there is definitely a choice involved. After two team kills I think players start getting prompts. It might be that you have to kill the same team member twice though. It is possible that, when you got booted, someone hit a button before really seeing the prompt. I used to accidentally boot people this way in Reach and Halo 4, even when I knew the team kills were accidental, all the time
I’d like to see team kills get included in the public Service Record btw
You were in the wrong, it sucks when someone grabs that ranged weapon and are not any good with it but you should have just ignored him and finished the match.

the reason he killed he specifically stated the guy was throwing grenades at his friends the time they beat him to the br trying to kill them for it… he didnt just kill him cause he was a hog, but retaliated to him trying to team kill
In reach, I was in a flaming worthog trying to take down a falcon. My team mate spawned next to me and started looking at me. I said to myself " dude if you blow up this warthog I’m booting you." He blew it up and I booted him… lol
