This is too to sound dumb…
Anyways, what do these mean?
OP (I’ve notice one meaning is “overpowered,” but I’ve seen it in reference to someone in the thread before."
OT
tl;dr
Okay thats all I think. It’s been bugging me. Thanks.

OP: Original Poster
OT: On Topic
tl;dr: to long, didn’t read(very commonly used in the bungie reach forums)
If I’m wrong then sorry these are what I have figured out.

This about sums it up. If you see someone refer to OP, look at the contact to see if it means Original Poster or over powered.
Ex)
Promethian vision is OP…
I agree with the OP
As you can see, it just depends on the context so just read carefully and it will be easy to figure out the difference between the two
Hope this helps!
Austin and Firecracker got the meanings right, but I felt like adding that there is no such thing as stupid question. If you never ask, you’ll never learn. If you are uncertain about something, ask about it. You might mention it as a side question when making a post or even send a PM to someone you think is reliable and ask about it. It might feel stupid at the moment, but anyone of our helpful members will probably be happy to help you.

In addition to this, you can also use “TL;DR” as a prefix to mark a summary, as if you were saying “Here’s a shortened version for anyone that would normally post ‘TL;DR’.”
TL;DR: It can mark a summary, too.
I’m usually on these forums. If you have any other questions in the future that you feel that you don’t want to post about, or what have you. Feel free to pm (Private message) me.
That goes for anyone else here as well. Though I’m not sure how useful I will be.
Context is king.
If someone says, “Weapon X is OP”, then it means Over Powered.
If someone says, “the OP is right”, then it would mean the Original Poster (the one who made the thread).
On a related note, OP can sometimes be used to refer to the Original Post as opposed to the person.
OT means “on topic” and is often used when a discussion has been derailed.
OP could also mean Optimus Prime. Some of the posts are more fun if you look at it that way.
“OMG the tank is OP!”
Depending on the situation, “OP” can mean “Original Post” (i.e. “In your OP, sir, …”), “Original Poster” (i.e. “Tell me why, OP, you said this…”), or “Over Powered” (i.e. “Frag grenades in Reach are OP.”)
