I’ve been trying to come up with an explanation for this for days now and nothing’s coming to mind. What happened? Nearest I can tell, the grenade detonated from the enemy ghost and the projectile counted as his because of that? I have no idea.
I can only assume by the utter lack of replies that everyone else is as baffled as I am. How do splinter grenades work? They seem to be entirely random as to the spread, throw arc, and… well, effect.
I assume the grenade can only EMP after the ‘splinters’ explode.

Maybe. Can you stun your teammates’s vehicles with plasma pistols and splinters in warzone?
You can EMP teammates in Warzone. It doesn’t actually do damage, but the effect is the same. Great for trolling, unfortunately. Haven’t seen too much trolling, though, except by Splinter Grenades.

I did not know that. Is that an oversight, or an intentional decision?

That may never be answered in an official capacity, but one must consider that a Plasma Pistol costs 3 energy to call in, which, while inexpensive, is really not worth the price of trolling. The Splinter Grenade can be used at level 5 and once per spawn, but that’s much harder to troll with and can usually only be used once or twice. It could be an oversight, but if it were intentional, then I suppose the reason for it might be that it makes Splinter Grenades universally dangerous for vehicles, regardless of team.

The logic is fairly sound, seeing as you can still be splattered by your own team.
… wasn’t sure if that was an oversight either though.

The splattering thing probably was, giving a risk-reward scenario to simply charging in with a vehicle. Also, if you couldn’t be killed via Splatters, it’s possible that players could pull off significant launches with Scout Hogs: i.e. potentially launching to the enemy’s armory on Stormbreak. Maybe that’s why Splattering is not included in the “no friendly-fire” rule.

The games hit registration is broken. I’ve had similar situations where it claimed I killed an enemy with a ghost when I’m only using a BR, yet there was no Ghost’s in sight.
The submunitions on the splinter grenade act as short-term EMPs. Drive into them and you get stunned.
Running into the splinters from the splinter grenade is what will cause the EMP effect. In warzone running into your own teammates splinter grenade will cause you to become EMP but will cause no damage.
I’ve managed to emp an enemy banshee and my own teammates banshee at the same time with the pp. Also the link is broken for me

It counts as a Ghost kill if you destroy a Ghost and the explosion kills an enemy, or if the destroyed Ghost carcass splatters someone. Even if you were using a BR, the Ghost technically got the kill. At least, that’s what it’s been like in my experience.

Or because your link doesn’t work.
well the ipsa loquitur of case, coupled with the rebuttable presumptions, … heck, splinter grenades stun vehicles when the explode.
Is this link a virus or something?
