Stuff we still want

343 you’ve been wonderful to Halo. You’ve given fans almost everything we’ve asked for, regardless of how insane our request. Now Halo 5 is over 100 gigs of awesome content. That being said, all released thus far really only balances the scales from those two games you tragically murdered (Halo 4 and MCC).

So it’s only natural for fans to continue to demand things of you, for you have sinned. So, a few big things we still want, as well as arguments for them:

  1. Playable Elites

The only people who think Halo should be Spartan V Spartan only are the competitive crowd, and let’s face it, they suck. You’ve got multiple threats with thousands of fans crying out for the chance to play as everyone’s favorite blargers. That’s thousands (maybe millions) of dollars you’re pushing away 343.

  1. Split Screen

When you guys said you wanted to leave your mark on Halo, you should have mentioned that the mark in question would be a burning brand right to our collective faces. “But, 60 fps.” That’s a silly excuse for the following reasons:
-Your excuse for forcing us to always be online is cloud computing, and you dare say that rendering 60 fps split screen would be too much? No way, that bs is a two way street buddy.
-If you don’t wanna shell out the extra cash for more cloud computing, fine. Lower the fps to 30 frames when people use split screen. I personally can’t tell the difference. I bought three controllers, let me use them!

  1. AIs in Forge

This one is big. Give us some bots to play with and we shall give you some glorious creations. If they take up some memory, that’s dandy. Just give them up, they are already in the game. I also refer to the whole cloud computing thing again. Don’t force us to submit to the always online stuff if there isn’t a benefit to it. AIs take up processing power, we get it, but we want 'em, and you got 'em!

  1. STOP WITH THE FORCED ARMOR SETS

Every Halo since Halo 3 has had better and better customization (sans Halo 4, but we don’t talk about that). And you follow that up with less? How dare you. On a side note, stop giving me Defender Armor. I have almost every variant, and the Helmet looks like a surprised Asian man. The visor colors are sweet, and you’ve added in some sweet armor sets (I’m in love with CIO). That being said, let me change my shoulders and chest. The whole full body thing is annoying, because while you’ve made a lot of good armor sets, you’ve also added in some bad armor sets. Let us decide what combos of armor we use.

  1. Do all the above in Halo 5

Its easy to push these requests off until Halo 6. Don’t. Halo 5 (at launch) was cripplingly undersold, due to the lack of about 90% of its current content. Really though? No Forge at launch? REALLY?! You’ve shown that you’re willing to deliver all that sweet content right into the laps of your returning fan base. That being said, you’ve got to set the standard. Your first impression was pretty poor my friends. Then you messed up again with MCC. Then you delivered a near fatal blow with Halo 5.

However, you saved the fan base with all these nice things you’ve given us. And believe me, we like nice things. You need to establish a precedent that these gifts are a proper apology, and not just a distraction until you make another mistake. So, prove it by serving up what the community wants. Of course, the Elite thing can wait (playable models are in the game), but the other stuff would definitely prove that you know what you’re doing.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

-One of your many pretentious (but loyal) fans

Why does everyone knock customization in Halo 4? We had helmets, shoulders, top and bottoms (did we also have custom arms?). Aside from wrist attachments and armor effects, Halo 4 had as much customization as Reach.

Since Halo 5 went through development Hell and some things got scrapped, I Do not see Full Customization happening at all accept Halo 6.

u forgot to add black undersuits…

Developer made MP maps with Interactive Environments aka stuff like what H2A MP maps had (Example. dropping ice down on someone, activating the huge shield in the middle of the map, making the water pour down etc.)

If not in Halo 5, I hope in Halo 6 this is a thing again. Absolutely love doing that kind of stuff, it felt so natural and it was a lot of fun to do.

I’ve said a lot of bad things about 343I. although its a year late with all the content we asked for, it seems they are certainly going in the right direction.

I hope what they are doing now follows onto Halo 6.

Regardless, I think it would be better if they saved some of the stuff such as playable elites for H6. it seems (it would be very difficult to balance them currently with the new designs).

Oh, and armour wasn’t that bad on H4

Didn’t they say split-screen and AI in forge both won’t happen in Halo 5 but they probably will in Halo 6?
