The first shot after John gets stabbed by the Knight with the curved sword (has a special name, doesn’t it? Ranger? Something like that… anyway), that shot is actually a really great replication of a piece of concept art from the Halofest trailer. Maybe this game will actually look like the environmental concept art, which would be a nice first for a Halo game.

When Cortana mentions her deterioration, she first appears, then looks around, then we cut to John thawing from his icy casket. It only occurred to me a few days ago that these are probably the opening shots of the game.

John speeding down a slope and a Phantom crashes out of the sky just ahead of him. Woo. I mean, we’ve seen Phantom crashing before, but never quite this violent. Also, Ghost trail is yellow-green.

Blue Prometheans are being shot at by blue bolts, presumably of plasma, presumably by Covies.

Where is Cortana when she’s yelling? Earlier, I thought it could be the Infinity, but this bridge and the one from the Commissioning sequence don’t quite match. Unless it is and I’m just being a bit pedantic. Which would make me wonder… Did the Didact suck the Infinity into Requiem to gain control of the ship? Is he in control of the entire planet? Is this is indeed him, and not Faber? Is this some form of exile, self-imposed or not, and the cryptum-occupant finally has a way out?
