Halo Master Chief Collection:
I have been playing this game since its release and just yesterday I have lost all ability to successfully find a game in matchmaking. I have tried all playlist and have even verified my network connection… I am able to invite other players to my party but cannot find a game. I’ve sat searching for players for as long as 30 minutes without finding a single player. It just stays on the searching screen with the status “searching for players” without EVER progressing past this stage. This is the only functionality that isn’t working in the game. I have even gone as far as to delete my game save from both the system and the cloud (yep lost all my game progress). I am at the end of the road and I’m hoping to get some information about my status server side. Was I banned for some reason? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I miss Halo. Thank you.
Here is a copy paste of what I wrote in another post but I am not sure if this will help as in some regions people are still facing search -Yoink- issue. I have been playing for the past 4 hours back to back heck I’m still on matchmaking and its working fine.
"Try team slayer, SWAT, Halo 4 or BTB since those lobbies always have more players. Also try the following which is usually recommended by other people in threads:
- Restart the game by quitting from the dashboard and run it again. (if this doesnt work then try #2)
- Before trying to join a matchmaking lobby start a “Custom game” and just quit and then try joining a lobby. (if this doesnt work then try #3)
- Unplug the wire from your brick that goes to the power socket, plug it back in after 10 sec then power up the console and start the game. (if this doesnt work then try #4)
- Reset the console which can be done by pressing and holding the console power button for a few seconds till it turns off itself. You may combine the other methods mentioned above.I dont think I need to say that make sure your NAT is open. I prefer to have the ports forwarded manually as mentioned on xbox’s website rather than having the DMZ option enabled. Make sure you are connected to the internet via LAN cable rather than wifi. When your in a playlist it usually searches for players and says “Players found” in the first 10 seconds or maybe 30 seconds followed by “players found” and “Connecting session”. If after players found it does not connect you to a session and rather keeps searching for player or for more players then back out and retry.Only sometimes this happens to me due to my internet timing out in which case I have to reset the routers while on other occasions I start a custom game and quit and then retry or I start a clip of my previous session and quit and try matchmaking again."
Another thing u can do is try to find a match under a different gamertag and see if that works.
BTW that searching for players thing just happened to me as well for like 3 mins but I started the previous match clip and tried matchmaking again and now its working :).

Thanks for your reply. I have tried everything multiple times. I’m convinced this has to do with me rep which has plummeted to “avoid me” status in the past month(solely). Had perfect rep till july and now it is as low as it can get. People report you for no reason on halo mcc. It’s ridiculous. Says i have 6 reports in this month on an account that is 3 years old and now i can’t play on xbl. This system is inherently fraudulent.People should not be allowed to control the fates of other players in such a way without the presentation of hard fact to back up a complaint about that person. I don’t do anything as far as cheating or any other code of conduct violations that isn’t common practice by nearly “ALL” xbl users. I hope to get a response from the xbl enforcement team soon to gather some insight about my status. Once again, thank you for your reply.

Thats what these forums are from bro cuz I know I have tried all the above and it fixed most of my issues with matchmaking. Been playing stable since March though there was a hiccup in April.

Yup thats it. The red “Avoid Me” rep is pretty much a system wide matchmaking ban more or less. You’ll never find players with rep that bad. Its sad too because this is a well known problem happening to A LOT of people. It happened to me a few days ago and luckily for me I was able to bring it back up to orange after playing nothing but Neverwinter for 5+ hours a day for 4 days straight. Some unfortunate people have been stuck in Avoid Me for months.

#4 worked for me after trying literally everything else. Thank you so much!
