I was having an issue where after installing Halo: MCC to a secondary drive through the Xbox Game Pass app, a pop-up saying “Content Installing. Unable to continue, the content is currently installing” would appear right after launching the game. Hopefully, I managed to find why this is happening and how to fix it. As it seems like I’m not the only person experiencing this, here it goes:
- What is causing this issue: As some people already know, several Xbox Game Pass games won’t function if installed on secondary drives. Some of them, in fact, won’t even install. For some reason, when you download Halo: MCC to any drive that isn’t the main one, the download to Halo REACH doesn’t automatically start. I found this out by keeping both the Xbox App and the Microsoft Store open. To make things worse, the pop-up that appears won’t tell you Halo REACH isn’t installed. It says the game is installing, but don’t trick yourself - it isn’t and won’t work unless you do something about it.
- How to fix it: Manually install Halo REACH through the Microsoft Store.
