I see that other people have this issue, i have tried to verify game integrity three times along with redownloading the entire game itself, i cant find anything on it.
Whenever i join a multiplayer game and it starts, it goes to a black screen, before when i tried campaign it would stay stuck on the validating part when it started, even for single player, i cannot get this game to actually play
edit - this is on PC, steam, still not working.
Bump, really dont want to refund this if i can fix it.
Im having the exact same issue, reported it on the MCC Insider program. Halo 2 on PC bricked my entire MCC.

I’m unable to play on Xbox one s at this point. Worked fine last night and now won’t load into a game and instead is stuck on the loading screen abs says validating in the lower right corner.
