So I joined a friends party and we started playing halo 2 campaign online. After a few minutes he ended up having to go to bed and left the party. So I tried leaving the game. It let’s me click save and quit but goes right back to the game. I tried restarting the Xbox, when I turned it back on it was still in the game and still couldn’t exit to main menu. I turned my router off for a while still no change. I took the disk out restarted xbox still no change. I’m at a loss here how do I get back to my game. I can play further in the game to the next checkpoint but if I reset the Xbox it takes me right back to where I started. Last time I tried none of the buttons would control anything except the Xbox home button. I can go home but if I click back into halo I go right back into his game.
Has anyone else had this problem? Can someone please help.Crking1990 is my account name.
Why don’t you change energy profile to energy saving. My guess is you have the instant on selected, and therefore your game session never ended. Or, launch another game - and then go back to halo
I might add I just got my Xbox and game last night I’m new to master chief collection. I will look and see if I can change to energy saving.

I have had this happen with Advanced Warfare while on Instant mode.
1. Unplug your xbox one, router and modem’s power supply and wait 2 minutes.
2. Plug them back in and wait 5 minutes for your router and modem to turn back on.
3. Turn your xbox one on.
4.Go to settings and change your power options from Instant on to power saving.
5. Restart your console and load Halo MCC.
If you did everything correctly you problem will be fixed.
If you are still having an issue delete Halo MCC and re-install it.
I unplugged the Xbox after consulting with you guys and its fine now. I also changed it to power savings. Thanks you guys rock!
You can also press the Xbox Guide button. Highlight MCC on your Xbox’s home screen. Press start(or menu, or whatever the hell it’s called now). Select “quit” from the menu that comes up. That closes the game completely so that the next time you start it, it will start from the beginning.
I will remember this ^^^ Xbox one is a whole new world for me.
yeah i have been glitched like this as well seems everything now is an app and upon leaving they still run in the background instead of closing. I had the exact same issue but was just stuck in the menus but i couldn’t quit because the menu button didnt work. ended up unplugging the box because turning off just i guess stores everything in ram.
