So played halo last night, everything works fine. Log in this morning, select my hard drive and now its been saying “Checking downloadable content” for about 30 minutes now. Tried taking game in and out, tried turning xbox on and off, nothing seems to work. Suggestions? Help?

The amount of downtime over the last 10 years is very minimal. Xbox Live has been very reliable over it’s life span.

That’s understandable, what’s not is that we can’t even play offline because of a server issue. We should not have to wait a full two minutes or longer to even get into a menu, server issues or not. This has been happening for a while.
This happened to me to, I thought something was wrong with my hardrive. Luckly I got it to work finally.

Try unplugging the ethernet cable from you Xbox to play offline. I’m assuming it’s getting stuck in the checking for content screen thus not allowing you to access what you’re trying to get to.

These things aren’t more reliable than Xbox Live.
I got through with just a few minutes of waiting. Be patient, if it takes longer than 5 minutes dashboard or restart and try again. I got through on my third time
I waited for 30 minutes, after that the game worked just fine, but it pointed that I didn’t have the downloadable contant ( I’ve got the season pass ). So I’ll just play another game today.

nothing you purchase is reliable, something you don’t seem to understand, in fact, most items today are designed to break after a while, to force you to buy a new one
