Stuck at bassus lol

so i started playing legendary as always until ive reached the bassus boss fight. after being hammered across the map the 1000000000th time ive restarted the whole Game, put Difficulty on NORMAL and still cant beat this cretin. and this is coming from someone that beat all halos on legendary and 1-3 on LASO.

so i am stuck, i cant seem to get past this mission, i dont seem to be able to reach the right side of the map because i dont have a wasp and the multiplayer is even worse than the campaign.

what now ?

I just kept jumping over the short wall that the skewer is resting on.

He just wastes time trying to get to me by going around and I shoot him till he’s dead.

You could also pile large load of coils to where he will be after the scene and nuke’em

Gotta get creative and see it through muh boy

Bassus is pretty easy compared to later fights.

Use the environment!
Garpple far away and run.
Use energy weapons and coils on his shield.
Slide dodge his weaker swings and get a melee in on his health once de shielded.
Use shock nades to stun lock him out of animations.

It should only take a few goes.
I just finished the campaign on heroic and consider myself a sub par halo player.

Grapple and shoot. That’s basically it. That’s what I did anyway.

This one is particularly tricky, but I also used the center wall to my advantage. If you can, bring a sentinel beam, it knocks down his shield and health quickly enough.

There is also a SPNKr hidden away. If you are facing the beam controls, go right all the way to the back corner.

I picked up invisible tank gun at outpost tremonious, helps alot with bosses on legendary

like i said, i beat every game on legendary but this fight is ridiculous. i dont mind dying a lot, used to it on laso runs but i seem to be to stupid for this

Bassus can be cheesed by grappling to the top beam on the other room.

I was wondering why there weren’t more people complaining about Bassus, yet :smiley:

Personally I thought the Ravager worked pretty well to down his shields quickly. And sticky Grenades also did some solid damage.

When the fight starts, I would move backwards as quickly as possible to enter this slightly larger room with the two ramps. There is more space to move around and his pathfinding seems to take just a little longer.

I read from others that there might be some exploits where you can grapple into an area which he can’t reach, like…on top of one of those windows? I don’t know…

Also, some people gathered all the explosive barrels there are and put them right where he spawns. So as soon as the fight starts, you can blast him to hell.

If you are not already using it, try using the special sentinel beam. It melts his entire shield in less than a clip. Then it’s just jumping over the half wall in the top middle until he’s dead.

I ran out into the warehouse bit and ran in circles. When I got his shields the Needler did quite a bit of damage to his health.

This one took me quite a while on Heroic. I just kept grappling around him when he’d rush me. I took many hammers to the head, but eventually got lucky enough to take him down.

You do know that you can change your difficulty with restarting the whole game or making a new one, right?

bassus is incredibly easy, walk into the beam hitting the hex wall when you first arrive and you will be shoomed down to the start of the next level :slight_smile:

or you can do what i did and shoot rockets and hammer him

Don’t forget that you can grapple the ceiling. Combine that with sentinel beam, br and fusion coils.

Kite him around the divider wall directly behind the laser controls, using the grappleshot to keep your distance, Three overcharged plasma pistol shots will drop his shield, and each shot should stagger him. I used the needler to get rid of most of his health, then an assault rifle to finish him off.
