So, for those of you stuck at 70, what do you do to have fun in halo 4? Obliviously you don’t go day to day playing through spOps or finishing the daily challenges, like I use to. Without ranks or armor or commendations to get I think I’ll spend tonight sitting at target to give away my halo 4 copy to someone who would’ve bought new. Cause this game seems worthless ATM and I own enough frisbees
I think most would agree that the game just isn’t fun without that stuff… Prove me wrong please.
I bet they release the next levels after Christmas, after they have stuffed their fat cat pockets by selling more limited edition copies. Maybe ill pick it up again then.
I play the new maps (objective games are something I havn’t spent much time in)… work on completing campaign legendary… work on spartan ops legendary … troll people online… test out new loadouts … Forge … Makes me wish I had been less dedicated to the game before Nov. 20 if I knew I wouldn’t be able to advance like planned (as i should have gotten the promo code, but never did)…
I have nothing to really do now im level 70, I’ve allready waisted over 200kxp from playing at level 70 and im about to finish a few commendations and challenges that will reward me with lots more xp. But now that im unable to advance in my specialization im simply not playing this game anymore as its pointless and a waste of time.
Yea, but I’d rather give it away to someone whose about to buy the game new. They already have my money. I kinda want to see 343 crash and burn at this point and that’s the best I can do. I don’t think they deserve the fan base the inherited from bungie considering all this spec code stuff.
@rylay and Shaggyboy 18 and basically every competitive player
I don’t get why so many people need to be able to increase a little number next to their name, to be able to have fun. I figure that there’s several possibilities. It is because:
They need to be able to brag about it? That’s pathetic.
They enjoy the challenge of pushing themselves that much further? There are plenty of challenging games that don’t have numbers but are still challenging. The challenge is in the experience, not a number.
They need to see how they match up to the competition because they play competitively (This is my guess)? Plenty of competitive games don’t have ranks (e.g. Counter-strike) but are still very competitive. Besides, in this game, you can’t derank, so everyone will reach max rank eventually (if they stick around long enough), no matter how good they are. There’s no competition there. Besides, why does are digital number = competition? Just play each match striving to get 1st place and try your hardest to achieve it. There’s your competitive play. A digital number isn’t important. Winning is what counts.
And this is coming from someone who doesn’t care about winning. I’m just looking at it from a competitive standpoint and thinking logically about the situation.
P.S. The official definition for competition is the act of competing. The definition for competing is to strive to outdo another for acknowledgment, a prize, supremacy, profit, etc. In this case, that would refer to achieving first place in a match, meaning you were superior (supremacy) to everyone in the match.

If you don’t care then give your spec code to someone who does, instead of complaining about why they want to be able to rank up like the rest of the population.
No sport or game continues to be fun when there is no possibility for advancement. Well, at least not for me, and if that’s not the case for you congratulations for being that way. If you don’t get it, fine. You be you. As for me, if I can’t advance, it isn’t near as much fun. There is no reason for it to be this way. Emailing codes just so you can play the rest of the game? And then they don’t work? I bought the stinking game and I should have received the whole stinking thing. So glad I was there at midnight.
> its about the fact that commendations get xp, and theres no point in wasting time getting them if they level some people up but not us…
Good point. I’ll give you that one. I can imagine that’s pretty irritating but again, because of no deranking, everyone will reach max rank eventually and that’s going to happen to everyone eventually. Once they reach max, they could just enjoy the challenge itself. Some of the challenges are pretty difficult and I’d think the difficulty of it would be rewarding enough.

I wasn’t even referring directly to the spec codes, just ranking up in general. I bought the limited edition. I simply asked why ranking up is such a big deal to a lot of people…

why do most people ignore that fact that you get game changing perks when you level up

Well, using that logic. What are you going to do after you get the code, rank up through all 8 specializations, and reach 130. Are you just going to sell the game the day you hit 130. I wasn’t trying to make anyone mad. I was just asking a question. It just seems weird that a number next to your name determines whether the game is fun or not. Personally, I have fun just playing the game, not to increase a small number next to my name. But to each his own I suppose. Everyone like different things.
If your suggesting that pixilated numbers don’t matter that virtually every videogame is worthless. And watching yourself complete 10000xp worth of challenges and commendations in a game only angers me more.

I realize that but in the specs, you only get one armor mod every ten levels. Most are relatively benign, too. Once you reach 70, you’re only missing 6 mods in the whole game.
I still play the game a bit even though im stuck at level 70, but im edging closed to about 3 commentations and a challange that will get me over 40k xp so im having to stop playing for the time being so i don’t waste that xp

Games are meant to be fun.
Ranking up is fun
Being xp capped is not fun.
I had been one of the hopefuls for this game and genuinely like it while recognizing its flaws but this is the one two knockout punch that turned all that hope into diss appointment.
